Re: US allows to detain suspects to crimes that have not been commited yet!
This thread reminds me how stupid the great majority of you are.
Come back when you've completed a high-school level government class and have any idea what is going on. If you trust (a single source within) the media to provide you with the entire story, you've got a long way to go. It's particularly saddening that Maddow would produce such a turd of a segment. Give me a clip of one of your speeches, and I can turn a speech about planting daisies into how you want to gangbang squirrels.

But doesn't the thought of the government throwing you away into some prison for doing absolutely nothing scare you? Because when they start doing these things a huge scale there going to use excuses like, ''terrorism prevention'' and or ''crime prevention'' which is utter bs.
USA is now a police state which sadly doesn't surprise me because I've seen this coming for a while now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp4vLBvU1bA aka "We won't explain anything to you because we're here to protect YOU against THEM -- you have to just trust us (even if we're breaking the law)" Loopholes and lack of safeguards can be extremely, extremely dangerous. We've seen it time and time again with the way our Constitution gets knocked with respect to gay rights, the way our financial system collapsed as a result of the subprime mortgage crisis and deregulated derivatives, etc. It's important that new systems are rigorous enough to not allow for deleterious reactivity. It is by no means stupid to question if this is the case because it's an extremely relevant concern. The problem with indefinite detention is that the war against terrorism is more or less endless. Terrorism is an amorphous beast in itself, and you don't want such a high-risk legal system put into place that may hit an error regarding mistaken identity. Obama has basically mentioned that this framework is really put forth with the goal of correctly handling the Guantanamo detainees and to hold those who have made it clear that they have received terrorist training/pledged allegiance to terrorist organizations/aim to kill Americans/etc. That's fine and all, but the problem is whether or not this system would be used as narrowly as Obama implies. It's a tradeoff between legal rigor and slackened guidelines -- which carry the problems of either letting a legitimate threat to America go free or increasing a probability of false positives. All Obama is saying is that they're trying very hard to find the proper system to minimize these problems on both sides of the coin. Last edited by Reincarnate; 01-25-2011 at 08:40 AM.. |

You know that's not what he meant. :P
Whatever Obama does about it he's screwed - is basically my point. The fact that he's still doing something about it makes me think a little better of him. ****ing liberals ****ing conservatives

I was only saying that if the government printed the money which should be controlled by the people we would have less. New money could be made that is different from the old ones and used because if done right gold could back up each bill made by the U.S.A. though it was just a thought |

plus that isn't going to happen, because pretty soon the dollar won't be the reserve currency. If you pay attention to the times you would see that the majority of other countries want to get away from the dollar without jeopardizing there stock value.

Also, Obama did seem like a much better candidate back then anyways. Then again, that's how elections always happen.
