Default Re: Solar Eclipse Pad Pack

Also looking again, I am putting the following files as accepted from me:

-YOU are you
-Japanese one that starts with a Y (even though it gets kind of old with how long it is and I still think the minefield is unneeded)
-Felys (A bit repetitive, but okay for the most part)
-Allegro Cantibile (You are still taking the ****ing hands out dont get me wrong lmao. File seems a lot more fun now though. Take out that double step at the very end too please. Kind of annoying =/)

These ones I am still requiring fixes on:
-Silly Symphony (the mine field is really not needed. Stops or mines after just those notes would have sufficed. Get rid of those minefields and this will be one of my favorite files in the pack and WILL get autoaccepted).
-Shine (the double steps, though intentional, i just dont think fit for the most part. The jump usage is what really got me on this song.
-Blue Sky (I get what you are doing with the rolls, but I think holds would suffice. It just reminds me of my Max Love Standard mode too much haha)

Files that I still just dont like:
-Over The Rave
-Niko Miko Reimu
-Face Was
-Explosive (Even getting how to do the footswitch better (sorry I was tired as hell when I reviewed this), the 1 footed 16th just are not happening).
-Blue Rose
-Bloody Tears
-Amifuri Koneko

Again, I need to stop reviewing **** when I am dead tired

Also I am extending this until the 27th since people are apparently now showing interest

I'm not looking forward to judging all those files, buizel. =(

Anyway, I sent a couple of things, i.e. a re-do of Meta Knight's Revenge which is now crossless, and an xmod borderline 9/10 file contrived from Angerfist music. Because I hate the universe.

I'll start running through files after Xoon 4 is complete and ready to be released (last minute judging and graphics, etc.).

Alright. I gave it till next saturday, so you have time.

(Wyde) Meta Knight v2 - Better. More of a fan of your chart then the expert chat in VGMPP
Accept

(Wyde) Spit On You - Overall not too bad. I would like the jumps to be chained though. It seemed a bit awkward for them not to be going with the rest of the file.
Accepted only if you fix that up

P.S. - I now have an updated list of songs that need gfx. Just PM me or catch me over msn/aim if you want to help do gfx.

I'll have to get started on that a fair while later I'm afraid, since there's homework, family visits and complete utter time-wasting I need to tend to first. =(

Concerning Spit On You, to be honest I'm only happy about putting chain jumps in bars 12 and 46. If you're wanting me to change the patterns in areas like bar 37 (I'm not sure of this, but I'm assuming anyway), I personally think that's unnecessary. It's only 8ths at 115 BPM after all, and overall I've been trying to keep the file from feeling too rigid/unbalanced in difficulty during the more understated areas of the song. Well that's my excuse anyway.

I'm talking about like the second jump from bar 51, second from bar 55, second from bar 59... actually i guess those 3 jumps are the only ones I really had major issues with for placement. The rest are acceptable. If you change those 3 then I will be happy enough

My excuse there is that, at the time, I felt it was appropriate for emphasising the lyric samples in a kind of pitch relevant and layered way. But if you're really not happy with it, I'll do something else with it. I have thought of an alternative.

I question the jump usage here. I mean technically, most of them sound correct, but they just don't flow well and aren't all that fun. Slowdowns and stops were okay i guess, but you probably should put mines as indicators of them on each area. Work on this one it seems p. cool
Needs fixes
Okay. Now that I really look into it better I did notice an entire section were the jumps were totally unnecessary (measures 39.1-45.1) and measures 68.3-69.15 were kind of retarded lol I will fix those. I go kinda jump crazy because I have a lot of fun doing them when I play, but anyways thats besides the point.. Before I start fixing it.. Do you think you could give me specific measures that you didn't really agree with? That would make it a bit easier for me.

I will add in some sort of indication that a slowdown / stop is coming.

I probably should have done this the first time, but I'll bring it down to my local arcade to pad test it myself first after I fix it and maybe see what the locals think before re-submitting. Because I could agree that maybe some of the jump placement doesn't flow right it's just kind of hard to tell on SM.

And yes the credit goes to Man1x lol thats the name I use for ITG.

The unneeded jumps:

- The 2 before bar 9 and the one directly on bar 9
- The 3 jumps used during the stops around bar 31 really can be just single notes
- Every jump between bar 40 and 45
- (Right around bar 51 there is a double step you should get rid of)
- The second jump after bar 55 (the one without a stop on it)
- (Please move that mine after bar 57 somewhere else. Nice to have for saying the speed starts back, but its in a bad location
- All the jumps in bars 58/59 (you started off using minifreezes, just continue using them)
-Technically the jump at bar 62 as well, but with what you did with the slowdown and such, it works, so that one you can leave alone.
-The jumps during bar 58/59 are good if it was a kb file, but that creates and awkward to hit jumpstream, so either link the jumps or get rid of them. I would prefer they be gone, but I won't count it against you if they are just chained. (oh, and leave the last one with the speed up there, of course)
-Jump before bar 75
-Bar 77-82, get rid of all of the 16th jumps
-Bar 81, get rid of the 8th jumps as well.

Think thats it

Yeah I knew That due to those double steps It was gunna get rejectedIt was a sacrifice I had to make So It couldve been Pitch Relevant.U say If I fix it It can get accepted?

Edit : Does a Pad file have to be PR to get accepted to this pack?

PR is cool if possible, but do NOT sacrifice it to double steps. PR is just an extra after you make it:

Fun (first and formost)
Without unneeded double steps
With a non-gay pattern
etc

so yeah. PR is for kb files mostly
