Smile Forever: A request to step.
A friend and I came up with the idea to mix most of Smiley's songs. We thought it was quite an idea; we were curious enough to know how hardcore happy the song can get. It is okay; transitions needed work and I am not sure if there is much of a BPM change (though I doubt it).
Anywho, I would like to ask a favor from my fellow FFRers and see if they can step this one. If you even feel like editing the song file, be my guest. Just please give credit to the editor of the file (who is flipsta_lombax and jmoneyh). =) Thanks. Oh, this is the direct link to the song: http://h1.ripway.com/Flipsta/SmileForever.mp3

Re: Smile Forever: A request to step.
There would probably be small bpm changes, depending on which song is dominant. Most of smiley's songs are very similar in bpm. Speaking of dominance, it seems like the songs are fighting against each other, especially towards the end. It ruined the song for me. It was a nice idea, though.

Re: Smile Forever: A request to step.
omg i made this !!!!! u stealer. lol lol. But yea i made this song, by jmoneyh, but i had to do it with a crappy mixer that didnt even have automatic speed adjustments so i basically had to do it by hearing it. and it wasnt my idea to make it, it was flipstas but he told me to do it for him so i just went onto the ffr site and downloaded 6 random smilie songs and mixed it

That sounds...Terrible. it isn't much of a remix, it's pretty much just all playing at once.

Re: Smile Forever: A request to step.
Lol ... It sounds pretty good ... but some parts have too many layers ... you might want to remove some layers from those areas.
Heh ... the "Classical Insanity" of Smiley if you would touch it up some more. |

Eh, how can he/she take it as constructive criticism when all he said was that it was terrible?

If you want to survive as an artist, you have to learn to take everything as constructive criticism.

Re: Smile Forever: A request to step.
Very true. I'll listen to the song and tell you what I think.
EDIT: It has a LOT of errors and was annoying to listen to. Sorry dude, good idea but you have a LONG WAY TO GO. Keep working on getting better I guess, until you make something you can actually call a "remix" out of something. PS I'm not flaming. PPS If you think I am, too bad your loss. PPS This is constructive criticism. EDIT2: HOLY **** dude I just realized you made this in MONO, what were you thinking? Whenever you make a mix or a song in a computer, or you're just recording stuff, please... PLEASE make sure you record in STEREO. MONO is just annoying for several channels. You just need to chillax there young grasshopper... I did not see any hate towards the song; people had opinions to say it needed improvements. You and I know it was not at all perfect. *sighs* Next time, let's use Fruity Loops. All we need to do is haxxor on Torrentz.com and get one for free, kk?

Re: Smile Forever: A request to step.
I just took the time to listen to the song, but I couldn't get through more than half of it. Sorry, but man, that was honestly horrible.
I wish I could say something positive, but there really isn't anything redeeming about it. All you did was play a couple of songs together at the same time, I doubt you put any effort into this thing. Edit: Someone got in a post while I was typing. I doubt a better program would help when it just seems that you're not putting any creative effort into this at all. Last edited by MCRenaissance; 03-9-2007 at 01:31 AM.. |

Re: Smile Forever: A request to step.
omg flipsta calling me a grasshopper, if im a grass hopper then ur liek a micro organism, cuz u cant mix if ur life depended on it!!! And yea, constructive cristism isnt " its terrible" ok. thats just flaming. and in my opinion, yea it was kinda jumbled up, but its hard to take away layers when ur just copying and pasting things. i cant take certain aspects from the song cuz wav pad isnt a music creation program, its just copying and pasting. so because of that, i think i achieved a incredible feat. i did this from pure listening and counting.

No, that's not flaming. A flame is a personal attack. People have said the song is horrible (they've said nothing about YOU), and they've given reasons why. People aren't interested in how you made it, only in the end result. And it didn't turn out well. That's all.

Re: Smile Forever: A request to step.
omg stop trying to make me below u jeeze, god, what experience do u need on a freakin forum. wtf, and saying ur experienced in forums isnt exactly a good accomplishment. and secondly, if u say my work is bad, then thats a reflection upon me, so it is like an attack on me.

Re: Smile Forever: A request to step.
mcrenaissance, u needa make up ur mind, first ur defending me, then u try to get me mad. and also, the song actually included about 6 of smileys songs. i did put effort into it but its not like it was a music creation program like fl studios or something. the only options were copy and pasting, and slowing/ speeding things up. i will be amazed if anyone could remix a song with it. i didnt intend to remix all of smileys songs, but i just wanted to put them together in a way that fit. if i wanted to remix i would have only used one song, and worked off of that with my own beats n stuff. but that would have been impossible with the wave pad. seriously if u guys think u can do better, download the wave pad and see for yourself. its not that im not creative, but that i had literally no options into being creative. ofcourse i would have made the song my own if i could have, but it was impossible. and if ur not gonna listen to the whole thing in the first place, u have no right to commment about it. i think in a mixing stand point i did ok.

It's nice that you're reminding us of your situation a few months later. Let it rest.
PS. I'm sure there's better FREE stuff out there. Just take a little time to look, and try again if you feel like it.
