What does Christmas hold for you this year?
Christmas is just around the corner. You all feeling the festive spirit yet or are you next to your fireplace mumbling "...humbug" while watching the starving orphans outside? I thought I'd make this thread to see if you are all looking forward to Christmas or not. Perhaps your neither column A or B. Also, I think it would suit the thread to post what you hope for Christmas this year. What presents are you getting your family (if you could discuss that here without loved one's reading this thread that is)? What will you do for Christmas? I personally will be having a normal run of the mill Christmas. Chestnuts roasting on and open fire heating a room filled with family that are all enjoying Christmas dinner and playing a board game of some sort and watching TV. All so merry, etc. My friend will be going to Spain this year to spend his christmas. Anyone else going abroad this year?
I've just finished shopping today for presents for my family and I'm pretty happy with what I've bought them. My brother has turned 21 early this month so I bought him a mini fridge for his room. He's quite the boozer. I bought my little brother a voice activated mini safe to keep all his important things he has safe. My dad has needed new trainers for months now, he's the manager for the towns local football (soccer) side so I know they will get good use. last but not least (and defiantly not cheapest), I've bought my Mother a nice necklace that she has been admiring for years. Im certain she will be over the moon. So guys, tell me about your Christmas!

Materialism sucks.
That said, I'm not all that interested in what I'm getting, because I know it won't be a Wii or THP8. I got my mom a movie. My little sister is getting a purse that she picked out. Last monday I sent my older sister a calender and her husband a Tshirt (they live in Colorado). I have yet to get anything for my dad yet, and word is, I have to get something for my deadbeat uncle who is living with us for a while. I just hope I pull something out of my ass before Christmas, so I don't have to cop out and get them gift cards or something. ps http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humbug

Re: What does Christmas hold for you this year?
I haven't bought anything for my family, my mom goes out and gets everything for everyone else to give out at our christmas party.
But I know what I have for the big day, a Wii, but I'll get it after since they keep flying off shelves, plus $250 for a few games with it. I don't know what else I'm getting but I think another game of Sorry since I lost my old one. I already recieved one gift, THP8, controls are strange but overall it's pretty good and fun.

3 t-shirts: Roflcopter, Meh, and Broken Image link
Trauma Center shipped, but it won't come in time. I paid for half of Elebits and my sister paid for the other half. We agreed to pay around $20 for each other so we did. I got her a $20 starbuck's giftcard and a pack of rechargeables since hers are apparently out of charge (meaning she probably lost them). My parents refused to let us buy them gifts, so we're just getting them simple things. My sister basically said she'd do the shopping and I'd pay half. In the end, my mom was like "yeah, I'll just pay for a game or two when they come out." Christmas is pretty much pointless. |

I buy presents for others, but I'd rather not get anything for Christmas. I just don't like it.

And urm for my brother i got a bunch of stuff like pen knife, torch, drinking game becaus ehe is going to college this year. Haven't got anything for my finace yet, but planning on getting that in Phillipines so he doesn't see it before he is supposed to. Re: What does Christmas hold for you this year?
I'm hoping for money, clothes, an Easton Hammer (baseball bat), a fish, Malcolm In the Middle DVD of sorts, a mic, and a DVD drive (which I'll pay for with the money I get).
So far I've gotten my Dad some Cowboy's collectibles, my sister an Aeropastale hoody and some punkxgothxemoxcore ring with skulls on it, my mom a pimpass pair of socks (they're made of ultramegasoft material). I plan to get each of them something more, as well as something for the rest of my family. |

Re: What does Christmas hold for you this year?
I'm hoping for a PS2 and games for it (**** finally). I'll also probably get an external HD, and, if I'm unlucky enough, my parents will buy me a synthesizer keyboard (nice gift and all, but the problem with that is I don't trust them to buy me one that I'll like, and I've seen some pretty crappy keyboards). If they follow the list I gave them there should be no problem.
Also, a real downer this year is my mom wasted $170 on shirts from artapart.com (turned out to be cheap iron-ons, and hey, the shirts kinda suck anyway, she should have just spent $100 on gift cards since they're 18 year-old boys she's giving them to), and $30 ordering a shirt from Threadless.com (rush delivery and all) because she deliberately ordered my sister a guys shirt instead of a girls shirt thinking she liked them more (I never knew my mom could be so oblivious as to what my sister wears). I pointed that out, and she insisted on ordering another correctly, and the day she reordered the shirt was the day Threadless's sale ended (at least I took advantage of the sale and got a cool shirt for myself ). A nice $100 that could have been spent on me all wasted Ah well, her money, she probably feels really ****ty about it, so I won't complain too much. Yeah, I'm pretty materialistic. Sue me. I love material goods (and using parentheses a lot). Nice.

Re: What does Christmas hold for you this year?
I only shopped for the wife this year, since my family is dead to me.
I got her a pink DS with Tetris DS (girls love Tetris), and some stuff for it (screen protectors, stylus, etc). I also got her some Batman figures, because she's gay for Batman. I threw in some random Pokemon stuff to sweeten the pot, and because it's nice to get like 20 presents on the day. I found out that she got me a black DS with a couple games, and the Penny Arcade Fruit ****er shirt. I got myself some Ice Creams shoes (black on black), because I deserve them. |

Re: What does Christmas hold for you this year?
Possibly a PS3, not really sure yet, some golf balls, some DVDs, some video games, hoping for a computer program to turn mp3 files into ringtones for my phone(in the near future anyways), door lock, and some I-tunes gift cards. This promises to be a decent holiday. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas

And I am getting Seasons 1 and 3 of Arrested Development...which I bought for myself with my mom's money. I also got a new Queen-sized bed...but mostly because my mom sold my old bed when I was at college and I didn't have a been for a few days. |
