Sven's hunt for oni.
Yup I guess it's time.
Well I don't really see myself AAAing any fmo, but I'd say that at this point I don't see any fmo pattern as impossible to AAA (unless it's a very very high fmo). My consistency is crap though, hence why I don't think I will get oni any time soon. As a testament to this statement, I have only managed to AAA 1 VC (rocket flight), but I feel it is equally as hard to AAA a VC than to AAA a FMO. Maybe a spiky file would be good? I don't know. So if you guys have any idea of files I could play and go for the AAA on, I'd like you to throw them here. I might not post many scores but I'll try to play everything suggested. VCs also work if you think there are any VCs I could get at the same time, but the main idea here is for me to get that coveted token. It's mostly a matter of landing a pure constant fluke to be honest. And if I don't get it soon, well at least it will be an excuse for practice! Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
I am secretly joining you on this epic quest. Of all the 66's I've played, I feel that (strictly in my opinion) Gynandromorph is the FMO I feel most comfortable PA'ing.

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
Nice job on the Rocket Flight AAA. It's a tricky file for it's rating.
If you're solid on jumpstream Makiba could be a good one. Personally, 0 (Piano Version) and Divine Suicide of K are nearly always low SDG plays for me. If you're good on at rolls, Within Life has been an oni get for a number of people. 300 could be a good one as it stays pretty simple structure wise, but it speeds up every 20 seconds or so, and the speed up is accompanied by a dense transition. Tricky, but it could work. Also Undiscovered Colors could be good as well. I still lack oni, too. |

I second that, however I quit whoring it because it seems super prone to mindblocks.

Largiloquent Dithyramb (or however it's spelled) if you're good on jacks. If consistency is your weakness you may want to go for Puzzle or Black Key Etude since they're short. Choprite may also be a good one (it's long, but for me at least it's far easier than most other 66s)

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
0 piano is easiest for me, though i didnt play spread to AAA it. I can barely AAA any other fmos sooo and this one took me like 7 tries. Gyn would prolly be the next easiest to AAA but the patterns are soo annoying.

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
Defection isn't too bad. Neither is ambient angels but a lot of people tend to have trouble with that one for some reason.

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
If you're good at jumpstream, you can try Defection, Makiba, Etude to a Nimbus, or VS Boss Battle.
If you're good at jacks, go for Club or AIM Anthem A really good tip for snatching Oni is to turn your PA visibility to off because you get distracted by it. A quick glance to the left and there goes your AAA run. Actually, anything that tells you what your PA is should be turned off as well because those can be very distracting.

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
lol 300 as oni get. gg
defection isn't too bad, fast asleep for a short song if you can do bursts (was my oni get) AA, i see that as a file where you're always close to disaster and completely botching up lol. at least that's what i've found. VS could be good if good at JS. I find it easier than makiba or EHHS

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
VS is good if you're good at dense jumpstream, while Makiba and EHHS are more of the standard jump-every-4th kind of deal. Destination of the Heart is fairly dense, but it's a short jumpstream in comparison and is pretty easy aside from it.
Powerpuff Gabberz isn't necessarily fast, and the only real tricky parts are a couple rolls. The only worry you may have is the length. Rottel is pretty easy once you get past the blasted intro. If you can AAA through the [13][24][13][24][13] section, you're pretty much golden. You've mentioned to me before that speed is something you're good at. Maybe Strangeprogram? It's awkward, but short and fast. And because they haven't been suggested (and I have them): Battle Theme #37 (everyone unlocked Oni on this for a month or so back in 2011) Epilogue (not necessarily recommended, but it's short and fast) Black Key Etude (the only tricky part is the minijacks. Everything else is pretty easy to keep up with) Now that that's posted, go get it on some crazy 74. Last edited by T-Force; 09-3-2013 at 06:19 PM.. |

Re: Sven's hunt for oni.
I'm not. Considering it's only one glut of [34][23][12]. While annoying, it's not like it's that hard.
And this is coming from someone whose blackflag on it came on said gluts. |
