Default Poker Talk

Anything poker related post here.

Conversation starter:
Phil Hellmuth won his record extending 13th WSOP event bracelet this week:
http://www.pokerlistings.com/phil-he...racelets-74656

He gets a lot of shit from people about his game despite this. How can a guy be the most successful tournament player in history but yet either not have the best game or have most of the fellow pros around him criticize his play?

I went to a poker tournament last night, ended up placing 10th out of 85. Lost a flush with a K to an A

I made over 10 grand playing poker and paid my tuition with the money.

Sadly I haven't played since the black friday incident. Miss it. I was a big fan of rush poker, actually. That's where I made most of my money. Must have played half a million hands or so.

Played in the Employee only poker tournament today at the casino. I got 4th out of 62. I lost with AK suited vs. KK. It was rough.....

play pokerstars lol. they were always waaaay better than *** tilt poker, and they have zoom now which is the equivalent of rush (only cash games atm tho, not for tourneys)

Nice. Thanks for the info. Didn't know they had 'zoom'. Rush was mostly the reason I played on tilt instead of stars anyway.

And yeah, I only play cash games. I don't like tournaments. Which is funny, because my records have been very good in tourneys, but cash games are more fun. Plus I like to be able to win or lose money in single hands.

Will dump some of my LOC onto an account and start making some $ when I get free time.

Will have to set up my HUD again and start practicing again though. Probably rusty as ****.

well as far as stars is concerned any stakes you play under 5/10 should be really soft.

Really? Has the play gone downhill since black friday?

I used to play 0.5/1 which wasn't too bad, but 1/2 and 2/4 rush were ridiculous. Almost everyone on there for any amount of time was 4 tabling with a HUD and a lot of guys had a lot of data on me. The reads. Was really hard to make money, so I mostly just stuck to 0.5/1.

eh idk whenever i made a new account and put some money in on it i found it easy to crush the game and scale up to 5/10 before i started having trouble

Oh, you're talking about regular games and not rush/zoom though.

So yeah, I see what you mean. Those stakes are definitely winnable if you're good, though, probably not HU (the HU players at that level are pretty good).

yes it's 500

but i only had 300 before they moved the site to some other skin, and i had heard enough horror stories of 6month+ cashouts that i figure it's +ev to just flip it. i just haven't bothered yet

games were really easy:
i had 8bb/100 @ NL10 and 10/100 @ PLO10
