FFR Legacy Opinion Poll
With all of the talk about the future of FFR, I would like to ask the communities' opinion on the legacy genre. Are the songs a valuable part of the game's past, or an out of date embarrassment to the quality of the game? Wherever you fall on the spectrum, please discuss you answer below. What should be done with the legacy genre?

Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll
It should be kept, just because the songs are OLD or out of date doesnt mean they should be deleted or whatever. lol

Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll
In my opinion all the legacy files and the genre should stay, BUT they should be taken from level ranks. To make up for the "I worked hard to AAA those!" complaints, make a profile badge that shows "Synthlight Files AAA'd" or something.

Combine options 3 & 4 is the 4th option.

Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll
Yeah, he noticed. Can't change it now though. (originally had another option before that one, and he removed it)

Pretty close to how I feel. Keep in game, give them their own level rank page. That way, those who went through the torture of knocking those out still have some sort of way to see the fruits of their labor.

Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll
Keep it how it is. They're a part of the game, poorly synced of otherwise, and shouldn't be removed from levelranks because they are public. Anyone can access them and improve their ranks, unlike tokens.

Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll
I think it's stupid to have Legacy files get their own level ranks... If that's the case, I suppose every genre deserves one as well. Cool guys, I have an average rank 1 on Funk genre!!
I am only in for the removal of files only if we have the overall general public consensus and moreover the stepartist's permission. But I know some of you guys are so stubborn because of the scores you all worked on. Dossar's suggestion is interesting and seems the most plausible. However, the only downside to this is that there would be no point and no achievement in playing these files. It is essentially a waste of your time haha. They're just buffer files in the engine if that was the case. Moving the legacy into token ranks is absurd because there should be a requirement to unlock these files in these specific ranks. Might as well brainstorm some requirements, but then this is another case of making FFLBF secret when it was already released in public for quite some time. My current vote goes to leaving them in the engine and do nothing with them. Yes we will have "crapply stepped" files every once in a while, but it seems that everyone's hatred towards Legacy files as a whole is mainly based on the fact that they cannot score well due to how poorly synced they are. But imagine the resources Synth had back in the days and compare it to the resources we have now. Just play the file as is, since that is part of the challenge. |

Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll
Hey, instead of letting them have their own ranks, how about we just make them... you know... not count for anything?

Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll
Yeah like really, we all worked hard for them, why should they be removed? And even if they stay why take them off of the ranks. They are a part of the game and history and removing them from the ranks and stuff just doesnt seem right and fair. Who cares if they are off sinc and hard to AAA. If you cant AAA them or get a good score than just dont play any of the files. Not like average rank means anything anyways.
