Default Yes. I'm gettin' a Dell, dude. :P

So I ordered a Dell, it's a graduation gift from my parents. Only requirement, it must be under $3,500. Easy, right? No, it was hard. Yeah, I got the 3.4 GhZ, the 160 GB HD, 1 GB RAM and 48X CD-RW/12X DVD-R combo... I even made sure to get an enhanced keyboard for FFR! But... I had to skimp out on a LOT of stuff. Like, only a 17 Flat screen compared to a 19 I wanted, I wanted the 3.6GhZ Extreme processor, but that was an extra $895 and the 2 GB RAM was like, an extra $450. I had to resort to getting a Dell 8300, not an XPS. Unfair. Anyone here have these problems?

Lol.

You shouldn't have gotten a Dell, you should have built the computer yourself.

Crymson: You should have talked to some geeky friends about building yourself your own computer. For $3,500, you could have got a computer 3 times as good for half what you spent on that thing. That would have saved enough for a nice monitor, and maybe a down payment on a car.

NEVER, NEVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER GO THROUGH A COMPUTER MANUFACTURING COMPANY. They will rip you off, badly.

Especially Dell. Please tell me that processor is a Pentium 4 and not a Celeron.

They also do Celeron. The ones they advertise for on TV are Celerons.

I hate Dell very much.

I have a Dell.. best corporate computer I've bought.. all the others crashed every 5 minutes (literally) at least this runs smooth and after 2-3 years it still can run all the top games..

but seriously.. if you buy a celeron.. that's your fault..

What? Can you speak english? Seriously, I won't even try to guess what the hell you said about my avatar.

Anyway.. Nothing wrong with a dell they're quality computers but if you can get one/make one then do that instead. I didn't really have the option to make my own...

Mine says intel inside pentium 4. uhhh... I don't know much else... it says 40x on the dvd rom thing...

I think it's 2.6 ghz. It was like 200 dollars. Really fast!

I make CDs with this baby.. mmmm.

The monitor thing sucks though. It's like 6 feet long... like a total 1980's deal.

Look up the Pentium Nehalem processor. It's expected to come out next year and it's estimated debut speed is ~6 ghz.

Holy shit. I wish my parents would have given me a $3500 graduation present.

Although a computer that good would be useless for me anyway, as all I ever do on it is surf the internet and play SM. I'm happy with the one I am using now, which I put together a few months ago for ~$600.

I'll never buy something THAT expensive.... I only spent $1500 on this comp: 4.0 GHz (I customized this one, worth about $1000 but it's just an Athlon XP ), I already got a 19 flat panel monitor, $600 for keyboard, printer with scanner, optical mouse, 4-way speaker with bass, and like $100 left for online games. I din't buy and more RAM, my custom computer got 1 GB, and it's enough. Same for hard drive (160 GB). I got this a year ago but my processor was upgraded a month ago. I'm just testing if having a processor this fast makes a difference. It doesn't. What really matters right now is having a 3Ghz processor at least if you're the online gaming guy.
