Re: Skyrim
nothing really new than what games before have done. randomly generated quests, woo. good graphics don't make a game great.

Re: Skyrim
Of interest: with all the graphics packs and texture enhancements people have made, you can make Morrowind look about as good as Oblivion with just a few mods.
And the game itself is 102490815 times better. Get owned.

Re: Skyrim
Exploring every little squares of Morrowind's map made me die a little. Not to mention save game getting corrupted at 2000+ days (lol mass vending and sleeping for the merchant to have money out of nowhere). At least it's more logical than people having buckets on their head and not reacting. Still, I agree that it was Bethesda's best Elder Scroll game so far. \o
Too bad, I'd rather play something 2D like Baldur's Gate. 3D seems to need some more time to adapt and fit better with how good games used to be. Skyrim is still worth a look. Last edited by Hakulyte; 11-11-2011 at 06:19 PM.. |

Re: Skyrim
I think the last 3D game I thought was better than some of my 2D favorites, aside from Morrowind, was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic lmao
The Mass Effects have been getting very close but they aren't quite what I want, I can't describe it. I wish the AAA game industry would stop jizzing over graphics already, stuff like Borderlands is a breath of fresh air that *maybe* someone is realizing that stylized graphics are okay and hyper-realism is not the only thing that sells. Borderlands was a ton of fun despite having cartoony graphics. I'm sure there are other examples, that's just the first one I thought of and it's one I recently enjoyed.

Re: Skyrim
I was shopping for Christmas presents at a mall, and I saw a HUGE line that extended past the entire hallway outside of the EB Games store. Apparently everyone was waiting for this game. I couldn't even enter the store as the lineup never ceased for however many hours I was shopping.
