Default Victoria Day, 5/23/11.

It's a holiday that Canadians celebrate every year, and it's a good reason to shoot fireworks. There happened to be a show going on literally 5 minutes from where I live walking distance, so I walked on over and went on to watch 15 minutes of non stop firework blasting.

I brought my camera with me of course, and these are the results I could come up with. I really wish I had a tripod otherwise alot of these would be so much better. I wonder if anyone else from FFR was at Ashbridge's Bay last night?

Post (any) pics of fireworks or what you did here

playing with reflections

And then to end the show with a bang:

Almost looks like a big =O. lol

Arguably the best picture I took of the night:

Those are pretty decent pictures of fireworks, most of the ones ive seen before are blurry and such.

Not exactly.

We celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday (ignoring the fact that her birthday is actually on May 24th) because she's basically known as the "mother of confederation" (i.e. Canada was made a country during her reign).

You should check out this article on Wikipedia.

The Canadian "independence day" is Canada Day, July 1st. But the above post just mentions why this holiday exists too.

Heh, when you put it that way, yeah. It's a statutory holiday (except for convenience stores, gas stations, etc.) anyway.

Yup, parliament is amazing, especially when you're right on the river. I have about 100 pics from last year but they were taken with my phone, so they're not great.
