Default School Project.

We are doing a parody project where we are required to parody several works we have read. Our group has decided to make a video. We all don't know much about video editing, and movie maker is so plain. Does anyone have good easy to use software suggestions that could give our video some extra kick?

Oh wait easy to use.

Movie Maker.

You could use Final Cut Pro or something, or send me your footage and I'll make you the best class project ever.

That would be soooo awesome if you edited our stuff. Though my group is kinda skeptical. They don't want some random dude from the internet video editing haha. And it would be tough coordinating everything. But if you have any idea that would make it a possibility....

Show your friends his work, then make your call. It's good stuff.

I will try that. Though my only concern is that.... It will be difficult to coordinate. This is due May 18th, and we are beginning filming this weekend. Even if you could somehow spice it up a little bit, that would be amazing Shayne.

I will look this up and see what I can do with it. Hopefully I can at least make my project a little bit better without spending crazy amounts of time.

How long is this video going to/need to be? I can edit video pretty god damn fast. Best way to coordinate something like this would just be to share a dropbox with you, so whenever I revise something or you get more footage it can be shared in realtime, and I have dropbox on every computer I own, as well as the one at work, and I'm on a computer 18 hours a day so it shouldn't be too hard to coordinate.

If not, Adobe Premiere is actually really good for simply clipping stuff and adding quick little menus, not great for effects though.

Also, if you want me to "spice it up" PLEASE make sure that you hold the damn camera really steady, and shoot it in HD, cell phone camera bullshit quality is so hard to pathmatch.

That would be amazing. Yeah dropbox would work very well. Once I talk with my group we should set one up. We could give you some footage this weekend and you could give us a sample of what you could do with it. This video is going to be like 20 minutes long or so.

But once we get everything worked out we can discuss this in more detail obviously. Getting the train rolling is just the first step.

Oh and I would love you forever if we actually got this to work. I don't know how I'd ever repay you!

Servitude for at least 6 months should be sufficient payment.

20 minute video? That's really god damn long, I hope you're going to be doing interesting things.

Well I think it ia going to be around that. I need the double check the requirement. Either way, our basic plot revolves around Dantes Inferno. Instead of the levels of hell, it is comprised of the levels of stupidity. Still working out all the logistics of it all, but that is how the basic plot is going to be.

What class is this even for?

I'd probably have your group do the basic clip trimming and what not, because you obviously are the director and have an idea of what you want in the video and what you don't. Once that's done I can dig into it and make it look good/add anything you want. Needs tons of explosions and fire, strippers, seal clubbing, getaway chases, dragons, and 8 metric tons of tofu.

This is for AP english IV. It is our end of the year project. Yeah, we will do some basic editing first, and once that is worked out I could send you some of it and we could go from there.

Some of our acting will be downright cheesy as well as some of the things we'll be doing.

Also I'll have to run by you some of the scene ideas so we can work out the best ways to film to allow for all the extra goodness.

Ahh the AP lit end of the year video project.

Mine had a 40 second 1200% time lapse of a sink filling up.

The class was not pleased with rick rolled in the credits either.

I'm not on skype much. Msn or PM is the best way to reach me.

Yeah if there's some sort of effect you have in mind, it's imperative that I coach you on how to shoot the scene, because a lot can go wrong in the post production process if it wasn't shot right. What kind of camera are you going to be using?

I'll have to discuss what camera we are using. And yeah you will have to discuss it with me, if not with our whole team. They are skeptical of getting your help though. But I can worry about that later once I get more of this stuff worked out with them first.
