Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
I'm really surprised that there isn't a thread for this already...
Anyways, I saw this really really early this morning, see my 3:45am thread for the reason why I was up, and I really enjoyed it. There were a few foreseeable things, but for someone who really doesn't know much about the whole Transformers franchise I was really pleased with the whole production. There were quite a few new characters which was cool and all. More later when more people have seen the movie and actually have something constructive to say aside from their opinion on the film. All in all, I suggest you go see this. Especially if you enjoyed the first movie. |

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
As someone who grew up with many oldschool Transformers toys, I can say I *loved* the first movie quite a bit. It didn't have that old Transformers feel in certain regards, but it was very well done and I think it did Transformers justice.
I've heard mixed things about RotF and so I am going to try to approach it without expecting too much. Hopefully I'll still find it enjoyable. Devastator (the Constructicon amalgamation) looks completely different from the toy/cartoon version, but I'm letting that one slide. Hopefully he kicks major ass in this movie.

I'm going to see it Thursday or Friday in IMAX. I'm sure the action/fight sequences will be enjoyable on the bigger screen. I just hope everything else in the movie is good as well. I'll post again after i watch it

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
So it's gay that the IMAX over here isn't presenting it. >_>
Hopefully, I'll go watch it today, or this week.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Did anyone see Rubix in the film? I didn't watch the movie yet, but I think I remember an old thread saying he landed a minor role.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Yeah Rubix, what's up with that, did you get in the movie as a crowd member or whatever it was? lol
And I'm going to see this with like 10 people tomorrow, then we are staying and watching year one and uhh.. The Hangover as well at the Rave theater. Anyone that goes with me gets in for free because I know so many people who work there. \m/

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
First, The Hangover was incredibly hysterical and everyone that I was with was cracking up so much and it's just about the funniest movie I've seen in a good while :]
Second, I saw Transformers 2 today at 1 and holy shizz. I didn't see all of the first one but I always had the main concept of the story line. This entire movie was action except the beginning, to which I really didn't like. But [not to spoil anything] I really like what they did with the girl that Sam meets at college hahaha. I didn't expect it at all. But overall, a great movie and I highly recommend it.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
The movie had a lot of problems. Besides half the movie making no sense and not being explained at all I felt like half the movie was over dramatic bs. Also It seemed like there was a climax every 5 minutes.
The hangover was amazing though. overdoing comedy is way better then overdoing action and explosions. |

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
I love how critics always pan Transformers and the general public always love it.
Enjoyed the first movie so I'll see this I guess. |

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
I just can't understand why they keep throwing the teenagers into the movie. I mean, okay, Megan Fox, but it just means less screentime for the things that actually matter.
Like giant transforming robots. Some more screentime for other Autobots would be nice too. <3 Ironhide |

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Just got back. I had a good time, but the movie was not without a LOT of flaws. I probably wouldn't see it again.
Pros: -Optimus kicks ass -Bumblebee kicks ass and uses his time to shine on multiple occasions -Jetfire kicks ass -Jetfire + Optimus = fkken tight -<3Ironhide -My campus! -There are some pretty sweet slow-motion Decepticon death scenes -They made Starscream very much like he was in the cartoon -I quite liked the epic fail with the taser -The fight scenes I actually enjoyed -- a lot of people thought they were hard to follow, but I didn't have much trouble with them. Fun scenes -Megan Fox -Megan Fox -Megan Fox Cons: -Devastator is really nothing like the old Devastator. They made him a huge, crippled slow machine that doesn't do a whole lot of damage, chokes on ****, and can't even climb up a pyramid without trouble. Oh, and he dies in basically one hit. -On THAT note, come on, they took out Devastator with one hit?! One hit?! You do not kill Devastator in one hit. Must be because it's a poser Devastator. The REAL Devastator would never stand for that **** and if push came to shove, he would take down half the Autobots along with him. -They gave Devastator balls for no other reason than to give Simmons an excuse to mention that he was below the scrotum. Way to totally ruin Devastator, guys. -The Fallen is a huge pussy and is largely underutilized. -Lots of cheesy one-liners, although some of them were effective -The pacing of the film was a bit weird. There's a huge lull in the middle of the film, basically. I felt like many parts could have been done a bit more quickly. How long does it take to freaking get Sam to Optimus' body?! Apparently half the movie. The middle third of the movie is basically devoted to setting up the last third. -Skid and Mudflap are a bit annoying. Would have liked more screentime devotion to Sideswipe or Ironhide. -A few of the gimmicky jokes I could have done without. The dog humping was totally unnecessary, as was the mini-transformer humping Megan Fox's leg. Come on, Michael Bay, keep that crap out of here -TONS of stereotypes. Jewish, midgets, black people... you name em, Bay's got something for you somewhere. While I don't personally care, I felt it was poor taste. -Not a whole lot of character development -No Rubix in sight There is a lot of footage that apparently did not make the final cut.
