Being the same.
I wonder, all this discrimination in the world. Its basically because people are different at the end of the day. Just imagine now (I don’t really want to hear "that will never happen because.....” just say it is) that we are all the same colour, race or whatever. Would there be discrimination. I'll be completely honest I was thinking this because in Tales of Symphonia (for the minority who don’t know, that’s an RPG on the Cube) the main bad guy Mithos wants to change people to lifeless angel being things. He wants to because he lived a life of being discriminated against for being half elven. The good say no because they don’t want to become lifeless beings but they never said why it wouldn’t work really. More or less no because we are good and have good hearts and all that jive. What do you think?
Edit: I forgot to say what i think. I say what i think, which isnt much. I Can't really think of a way how we could discriminate if we are the same. I mean if we hate someone wouldn't we be basically hate areselves?

Re: Being the same.
remember this:
people are stupid. if we were all the exact same, we'd still think of a way to hate eachother. A person can be smart. People are stupid. |

Re: Being the same.
Sounds like communism to me. I never thought the idea of communism was all that bad if it was done right. Everyone would just be the same and if everyone worked hard then it would be great.

What is the point of discussing something that is purely an idea. Communism is NOT an idea... but everyone being the same is just not possible.
And even if we were all the same skin color, race, religion... there would still be sexism (can't all be the same sex). There would also be "hate" based on things like deformities, hair color (aryan's?), scars, moles, or any number of other things like big noses or glasses.

Re: Being the same.
Society is designed to pander to the mean. Therefore, if the qualia of every aspect of every individuals beliefs are the same, then there should be no discrimination. I'd go so far as to say that both the word and the concept of discrimination would not be in our linguistic nor cognitive lexicon.

Communism can never work because of human nature.

If we were all exactly the same we'd still try to kill each other because that's what humans do best.

Re: Being the same.
After everyone is the same then we'll fight about beliefs (i.e. Religion). But in the end its all irrelavent because the human species will most likely exterminate itself before the 1000's of years that need to take place for everyone to become the same. Keep in mind that its not the most intelligent species that lives the longest, its the species that is most responsive to change. The species that adapts the best will stay around the longest. With our slow moving governments and obvious inability to change our beliefs and habits will be the death of us.
