Re: Black Holes May Not Have 'Event Horizons' After All
"This suggests that black holes should be redefined as metastable bound
states of the gravitational field." What he's proposing is pretty ballsy; basically implying that information can be retrieved from black holes, although it will be pretty fubar information to the point of being unrecognizable. It's been widely assumed for decades that information is totally lost once it passes the event horizon of a black hole though. Last edited by Dynam0; 01-25-2014 at 12:43 AM.. |

...even for Stephen Hawking isn't this is a bit of a stretch?
will read later, definitely interesting. Last edited by Pseudo Enigma; 01-25-2014 at 04:11 AM.. |

Re: Black Holes May Not Have 'Event Horizons' After All
I've heard some things about black holes recently, the topic seems to be popping up recently so I'll give this a read later since it's captured my interest :P I know of someone that knows someone who's doing research on black holes by studying them as these pseudo-metric spaces where you throw away the axiom of nonnegative distance...cool stuff.
