Re: Stepmania Pack At The End Of The World
Time for round 2!
Made a new file, hopefully better than the first one - anyone wanna help me out and test it? I'm sure someone can give me hints where to improve before submitting it. PS. I'd link the song but for some reason nobody has uploaded it anywhere. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3_aaBiDTeo <- file #3. I've got about 40 seconds of it stepped, and about 85 seconds of it synced.

Re: Stepmania Pack At The End Of The World
Thanks for the feedback. After all I've stepped only about 10 files in total this far, so I didn't really expect to be the best stepper right away. Anyways, could I ask a bit more specific info on what was weak in this file? I went through it again and here are some things i thought about:
- Were the patterns for the jump/tap alternating jumpstream bad? I tried to make it so that there wouldn't be a lot of repeating the same arrow twice in a row. But this way it came out as "random". I dunno if that's bad or not? - Was it too repetitive in terms of structure? There were those parts with the triplets and those parts with the JS, with very simple transitions via a drumroll/a few spaced jumps. But mainly JS. Though I think I've seen more repetitive files. - Do you have any tips how to make files more "interesting"? Sometimes i try to make something fancy but it always ends up feeling awkward and i tone it back to the basic layers of melody/drums. |

Re: Stepmania Pack At The End Of The World
gonna go ahead and not bother fixing my file for this, if you found the other parts repetitive then i'll step something else np

Re: Stepmania Pack At The End Of The World
I sent in a chart.
Hopefully it does well edit: o realized it got rejected hm. Edit2: I think I'll regret asking, but which intro stream are you saying is awful? 'Cause there's kind of two different ones in the first half and I'm unsure if I should change both or just one of them. I also still don't understand how it's awful, the first one is "connected" like Hi19 suggested and the second one not so much. I don't understand what makes a stream pattern good or bad. Re: Stepmania Pack At The End Of The World
i fixed the shit out of central white tonight and removed all the downy patterns i didn't notice before
if you still have the original file in your stepmania i can pm you the .sm and you can just judge that without any of it being called a v2. its the heavy chart (beginner the downy version, i figure scoretards could play it)

Sending Roxas by Yoko Shimomura. Not sure how it would fare but I figure that I'd send something from my pile of unreleased files.

Re: Stepmania Pack At The End Of The World
judging shit brace yaselves
Acid Wolfpack -the fuc. baq stepping dubstep is like shougo saying it's ok to **** his sister. File is very well crafted, some parts didn't impress me as much but it looks like something I would step if it didn't have rainbows. Central White -I didn't find anything particularly fun about this file/anything better than the original. the 24ths with mini-jacks are a big no. ****ing Paranoid -this file is weird, but not in a bad way. those mini-jacks eventually are a ****ing killer though. that section repeats too much. Yuru Yuri is a terrible anime and you should feel eternally bad about stepping this -I didn't SDP this and it's all your fault. Also I'm going to make a serious recommendation, remove all the 16th jump jacks since they're really awkward to hit at this speed. ReRicked -I actually really disliked this file. There's no real flow going on, everything is broken up and awkward. Also some of the main chorus parts are missing notes (the piano). Also the colored drums at the start are really out of place and unnecessary Return -at the start (quarter way through) when there's a pause with no notes, maybe add some mines following the melody. just a suggestion. The only reason I'm tolerating this pony shit is because interrobangpie is a fellow chip artist on battleofthebits even though this is fakebit. Roxas -this isn't necessarily a bad file, it just isn't right for this pack. most of this file is a 4th note snoozefest. probably best for another project. Transparent World -quit out within 10 seconds. those are the worst 16th stream patterns I have ever seen. ok I played it again. this whole file suffers from bad pattern useage. the steps themselves were relatively accurate, but everything needs a massive pattern overhaul. Winds of Desolation -the first half doesn't have the best trill patterns, but this file is good. wolfgang's 5th symphony -this file doesn't overcomplicate things for no reason and is really fun as a result. the mine tricks were very well executed and overall this rules.
