Elections Canada 2011
I'm watching the live coverage. NDP wave? who knows, but liberals seem to be putting up some numbers somehow.
MLA for Moncton-Dieppe-Riverview used to be mayor for Moncton, always did an awesome job so I voted for him, regardless of his party.

Re: Elections Canada 2011
Where is the live coverage at? I'm just following the twitter feed on #tweettheresults which probably isn't entirely accurate.
I'm in BC so it's probably pulled until 7.

Re: Elections Canada 2011
I didn't get to run because I didn't have an accountant and election was earlier than planned. Next time though, party leader said I can still run hehu.
Moncton is now Conservative. fuc... NDP getting lots more votes than usual though pretty coo. if you're in bc, bell has been known for not completely blocking coverage in parts of canada which is illegal till the polls in your respective province is closed haha. it's CON 13 LIB 12 NDP 7 BQ 1 so far. bq seat is iles de la madelaine which is on our time zone

Re: Elections Canada 2011
Welp, there goes all my tuition money.
All hail the "Harper Government". It's not even called the "Government of CANADA" anymore.

Re: Elections Canada 2011
Well, as much as I voted liberal, I lost the seat by like 1k votes I think to the NDP, and the liberals got decimated overall.
Did not want to see a conservative majority. Very disappointed Nice victory for NDP supporters though (but probably bittersweet).

Re: Elections Canada 2011
I can't see the point of electing a government who has already proven to the entire population of Canada that they can't function. Being an ex-conservative I can see from a new point of view how badly they've really been functioning over the past years.
It's very upsetting that we've elected Harper back into the chair. Absolutely disgusting.

Re: Elections Canada 2011
My preference is the NDP or the Conservatives, primarily the latter. I love, and hate many things from both parties but overall I'm personally glad the Conservatives won. I hate the NDP/Liberal immigration policy and fiscal policies, which is what I like about the Conservatives, but they aren't close to perfect themselves, as I agree, they do cause a lot of bs, but I think everybody is just getting caught up in the anti-harper hype. I don't think he's NEARLY as bad as people say he is.

Re: Elections Canada 2011
I just heard stuff on the TV about someone in the Bloc resigning, is that party actually going to continue to exist?

Re: Elections Canada 2011
I'm rather happy with the election results.
NDP kicked ass, and I've found a new respect for Quebec citizens. They abandonds separatism, and voted NDP... Incredible! Not very impressed with my riding though, ****ing rich ****s. RT Majority or not, 60% voted against Harper. Don't lose faith- the fault lies with the voting system, not the voters. #elxn41 #tweettheresults

Re: Elections Canada 2011
Duceppe (the leader) resigned cause he lost his seat. BQ will still exist, but they will barely have a say in parliament. Hopefully for them they'll regain seats, but I'm personally hoping for an NDP gov. in 2015. Harper is terrible. shitharperdid.com

Re: Elections Canada 2011
I was personally hoping for at least an NDP or a Liberal government, but that obviously didn't happen. I agree with you on 2015, because I honestly just can't tolerate the Conservative government anymore. We need to change. Also, that site is now in my bookmarks.
Whatever. I'm calling it a night. What a wasted evening anyway.

Re: Elections Canada 2011
That website seems so incredibly biased it hurts. A bandwagon of anti-harper people are obviously going to have strong biases against harper. At least try to form an opinion by educating yourself from multiple media backgrounds. There's nothing unCanadian about wanting stricter immigration policy. If jobs are hard to find why bring in more people? It's not racist at all unlike what the site's trying to tell everybody.
