here 1. Open audacity 2. Project -> Import Raw Data 3. 8-bit signed PCM encoding 4. lower bitrate = lower frequency = longer, and the opposite holds true 5. ???? edit: also going from stereo -> mono will about double the length unsurprisingly

Re: Paint.exe as a audio file.
the last 20 or so seconds of stepmania for mac sounds like a retard sucking air
e: machinarium.exe sounds pretty much like every hrvatski track ever and is the only one with any sort of beat I've found

Re: Paint.exe as a audio file.
Whatever I try seems to still have a bunch of noise on top of it. I used:
Signed 8 Bit PCM encoding Little-endian byte order 0 bytes offset 100% sampled 22050Hz sample rate The second half of audacity.exe sounded pretty cool though 8).

Re: Paint.exe as a audio file.
It needs to be no endianness, I think.

Re: Paint.exe as a audio file.
oh jegus **** yes more pony avatars all around mother****ers hop on the goddamned my little pony manliness train
I had no idea .exe files had any human-readable parts but notepad pretty quickly verified your outlandish claims. So now I'm pretty much just fiddling around with visual studio and trying to put rude biznasty beats in swagger.exe's but of course I'm failing pretty hard. Partly because the .exe has to be >1000kb to get any real length and secondly because I have no idea how to manipulate a compiler like that and probably never will FAILED EXPERIMENT

Re: Paint.exe as a audio file.
Define a lot of character arrays with specific patterns then print them out? Maybe that will make some nice noise/beats.
Another thing I noted was the paint.exe was on x64. Maybe it works better because of that. Uncompressed files like .bmp, .pdf, .doc etc. seem to work pretty well. |

Re: Paint.exe as a audio file.
This actually sounds pretty cool.
I'm gonna have to try this with many different programs now, just to see what they sound like. :P

That was pretty cool. Probably going to go spend awhile trying different files out.

You'd have to get permission from Microsoft to step that, lol.
