Re: 6 Key FFR
anyone who opposes the idea because they should just play stepmania are absolutely retarded.
6 key ffr would deliver something fresh and challenging for people who have been playing ivkas (4 key auto scratch) for ages. yea guys ffr is gay as **** and a horrible idea just play sm instead. |

Re: 6 Key FFR
Solo for FFR is seriously something that needs to be done.. seriously. Seriously. Did I say seriously?
The site is in shambles. Been in shambles. Not saying that adding solo will fix anything, but it will definitely, definitely, be a source of keeping people interested in playing on the site, for the users who do actually do that. Obviously this will not happen in the near time future due to the current status on things, the long list of priorities and whatever else is in the way, but it seriously needs to be implemented. Did I say seriously Aside from being a whole new experience to users, we're really lacking on a mixture of games, which I believe Synth was actually trying to bring in at one point in time, except, this really is not a mixture. Bringing solo really institutes a whole new level to stepping, which in fact, people are growing old of. Using the same four keys for layering becomes utterly boring. Adding two keys creates a whole new level of layering and PR. Adding two keys makes more complex streams. Adding two keys makes my wang tingle, a bit. I've never been into solo at all but adding it would definitely catch my interest and will obviously catch others as well. I'm not even going to go in depth into how much of a different experience and liking it will generate.. a lot should realize this already. Obviously we already would have a giant queue of songs that needs to be stepped, which would allow a total mix up of song difficulties and so on. Of course with this we would also really need to look into a whole panel of judges for judging songs, which we need to look into anyway. As for a newer crowd actually "starting off" with solo, isn't anything different than what we have now. Obviously there would be an option for the two, so no worries there. I like. |

Re: 6 Key FFR
ur my hero
solo just feels more fun. you have 6 arrows to work with, and quadruple the pattern possibilities from singles. people have been making solo files on odi since 2006 which made keyboard stepmania solo somewhat popular (by popular i mean 10 people on odi who played solo at the time). with the evolution of solo it became apparent that this would be a game that people would look forward to when tired of singles or looking for a challenge, or simply something new and refreshing. just like ffr, solo too can have batches and judges and permissions etc (assuming we can just use the permissions we have for 4 key ffr anyway?) and would leave plenty of room for more subscriber content which would put their money to use. imo this idea should be higher up on the priority list, assuming the community supports the idea fully (which so far it has nearly 100%) |

Do you think you'll keep the Combo meter in one position or will you have it move around like in Keyboardmania?

Re: 6 Key FFR
I know something nobody has thought of....what about the one-handers!!?? LOL
I find that game to be incredibly difficult....I am still trying to figure out a key setup if I am playing my style of one hand 3 fingers. |

Re: 6 Key FFR
It is not retarded if it is the only style you have learned in the past 1.5 years. I am not horrible at FFR; I try. Also, it is SO fun!

its okay, everyones free to enjoy the game in the fashion they better like. solo sure is intended for two hands, but if he likes it the other way around don't jump on him. i personally think that its better to know all styles and enjoy them all, but hey. i don't think everyones ever jumped on squeesfan for passing RATO on index.

Re: 6 Key FFR
Solo one-handed doesn't even, like, make sense. On singles there are really very few common patterns that you can't reasonably do with a one-hand three-fingers style. On the other hand, while you might be able to do OK on easy solo files with three fingers, on any decently hard file the patterns are dense enough that you'll have to wristjack twice as fast as the stream goes. Go play a stream file with one finger and you will see what I mean. You're going to miss out on a LOT of stuff if you don't try a more appropriate style.
