Constantine
I just got back from seeing this movie tonight, and it's better than the previews made it look.
There are times when you hardly even notice Keanu's (lack of) acting skills. The one thing I really didn't like is how much he tried to come off as a badass when he hasn't gained enough movie respect to act that way. Overall the movie had some awesome effects and it was pretty funny, especially the hand gesture at the end. It's a good theater movie. Tonight made me want to see Sin City even more, and there was a long preview for HGTTG, yay.

Yeah, I saw that prewiew a while ago...and I dunno about that (different thread, though.)
As far as Constantine goes, Keanu is horrid, and I refuse to sit through anything of his. The story line also looks really crappy.

RE: Constantine
I think it looks like a good movie...well, just cause of the action scenes. Otherwise, I'm glad that it's about time Neo went to hell.

RE: Constantine
Well, this was surprising. Constantine was actually bloody freaking great.
The plot is alot deeper than I thought it would be, and there's alot of cool-ass super-powered characters and neat supernatural items to drool over. The action scenes are fantastic, as is the casting (Shia LaBeouf FTW, bitches). It also has a few but clever laughs they like to sneak in. This movie doesn't give Keanu Reeves any redemption, but he didn't suck balls. At least, I thought he didn't. Also, the preview for Sin City looked really really interesting. |

It's probably just me, but my love for this movie cannot be expressed in words.

I heard that this movie was based on a DC comic. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

RE: Constantine
Excellent film, I had the pleasure of viewing it 4 days earlier at a sneak preview on base, it was definitely better than I had first thought it was going to be. The sense of humor was great and the action provided ample eye-candy. Kudos to Keanu from me.

RE: Constantine
Saw it last night.
Didn't think it was amazing, but didn't think it sucked either. Some of the concepts were a little far fetched, but on the whole, there were some cool ideas in there, a few laughs, and great effects. Keanu wasn't bad, although i've never thought of him as a "horrible" actor. The whole heaven and hell thing has always been a soft spot for me, so I really liked the story, even though it was based on a comic. If you like action and a decent fantasy story, go see this one.

RE: Constantine
I just came back from watchin it. I really liked the movie. Not religious propoganda, like I had expected, but it had a very coherent and well portrayed plot. It is certainly one of the best movies, in theaters or out, that I have seen this year.

I heard nothing but good reviews from my friends at school. My satanic friend even went as far as to say it was the best movie he has seen in the theaters in a while (though, that really isnt saying much).

RE: Constantine
The end was pretty amusing, and it wasn't a bad movie. The effects are cool in it, and if you ignore the parts where Keanu Reeves has more than one liners, he doesn't seem too bad. Rachel Weiz was pretty good in that movie, and Djimon Hounsou was pure gold (Midnite). Shia LaBeouf as Chas... good comic relief. Overall, I'd give it a 3-3.5 stars out of 5.

Shia LaBeouf stole the spotlight of the whole movie, for me. I freaking love that kid.
