Strange Happenings....
Well me and my amigo were at Gatti's Pizza, we got a medium spicy sausage pizza. When the dude gave us our pizza, he told us we could grab 2 free drinks...yay! Either way, it's a small place so there's just a couple chairs for people who are waiting or whatever, so we just sat there and began eating.
Too the point here, randomally as we'd be eating the door would open and close randomally, when no one was even near it. It was a little windy, but the door was the other direction, so the wind would have to like "pull" the handle to open the door. It would happen every so often, and when it did the dudes working there would run over to see if anyone was there, and well no one was. Every time I'd try to take a video with my cellphone the door would not open randomally, but just as I'd close my phone or sit down, it would open again mysteriously and close again. Other random customers who came in thought it was strange as well. They thought it was because when the back door was opened the wind came through, but it would also happen when the back door was closed.... So now there is a "Gatti's Ghost". I'm sure there is some form of a logical explanation for this but it's still interesting none the less. Anything strange like this ever happen to you? Maybe this should have been a random thought....

Re: Strange Happenings....
there is rumored to be a ghost in one of the dorms on my campus (i think this is true for all colleges, though). apparently people hear music playing late, and random strange things late at night. the ghost is so popular its practically a mascot.
in a old dorm i used to live in, i would hear eerie opera singing late at night. i recorded it once or twice. one night my roommate and i went searching the hallway to find out who was doing it, but we could never find out where it was coming from. many people tried as well, but we never found it who it was. |

Re: Strange Happenings....
Sometimes when I'm open one door of my house, another door closes. We got a 2 door bathroom upstairs, and sometimes I open one door to go in, and the other door is slightly open, it randomally closes. No one is there either.... But, there's likely a logical explanation for that too....
As for random singing/music that never has happened to me yet. |

Re: Strange Happenings....
This happens all the time when I open my bedroom window and my door will slam shut. I think it has something to do with a vacuum effect when the air is displaced in a room so that would cause the door to shut or open.

In the house I lived in for 20 years it is one story house with one "downstairs room," planted my ffr roots down there... anyways sometimes you could hear footsteps upstairs when nobody was home. Not heavy footsteps, just the kind that make the floor creek (getting chills just thinking about it) my brother and both parents have heard it before. Still not as crazy as the night we heard notes coming from out piano... OMG that was scary. We think it was my Gramps who was the first owner of the house, never got to meet the guy but we know he's a friendly ghost Last edited by GETTING300ZX; 03-28-2009 at 01:54 AM.. Re: Strange Happenings....
It wasn't "a little windy" in Allen yesterday; we had very strong winds and huge gusts.
Plus, high winds create low pressures outside, and if the air pressure inside the Mr. Gatti's is higher, the inside air will try to escape, pushing the door outward. I mean, sure, if you want to believe that it was a ghost, go ahead; there are plenty of psychics, palm readers, paranormal investigators, and others who rely on complete suckers out there who need to stay in business. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

Re: Strange Happenings....
Also, this may not be the case, but if doors, or even entire structures are even the slightest bit slanted, the door could just swing open just like that. A carpenter could tell you this. This works for a book as well. You could try taking a hardcover book and holding it just a bit slanted, and it will open up.

Re: Strange Happenings....
if a door swings open by itself, its probably due to pressure changes. pressure differences cause the doors in some of the campus buildings to either be near impossible to open or just swing open by themselves. it has been known to set off the alarms.

Re: Strange Happenings....
I've had troubles opening my room door, pressure differences. A few times I've actually had to push with my shoulder and put my weight into it. I'm sure the opposite can happen.
