Blackpeoplemeet.com
Website, please stop sending me there.
It is worse than popups and it is happening every 10 seconds. Thank you.

Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
This redirecting bs is exactly the reason I am sooooooooooooooo happy I managed to get a subby from someone. It's extremely annoying.

I was just sent there, myself. I just add the URL to my adblock and hope that it works.

I don't ever get redirected, but I've been using Adblock Plus for ages now. I'm really surprised at the number of people who swear by Firefox and don't know about it, considering I hate Firefox and only use it for this site, yet I've known about it since I started using Firefox. |

Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
I have never been redirected while being a subscriber.
Just thought I'd throw that out there. |

Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
I understand the "subscribe to remove ads" mentality, but this is beyond that. It takes me AWAY FROM THE SITE. Why on earth would FFR allow an ad that takes the user away from the site?

Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
Let me do some digging...brb...

This is basically the same thing, just a different website. If I understand correctly, Synth never did allow those types of ads on this website. If you're savvy enough to figure out where they're coming from, say so, because then Synth can actually do something about it. Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
FFR doesn't willingly allow these ads, actually. Synthlight has said he hates redirect ads, and if anyone can find out how this is happening, he'd personally remove it.
EDIT: Well foilman ninja'd me and is probably going to dig the quote up I was just going to dig up, haha. |

I thought I was just my jacked up IE, but then I used Firefox and it still happened. Now I use Google Chrome and I don't redirected anymore. It may be the adblock on it.

*ahem* (sorry Byron! ) I haven't actually been re-directed to this site at all being a subby, so to the person who addressed the problem to affecting subbies, I actually don't know if that's the truth. Synth needs to stop the ads from injecting themselves into the site. Also, just a question, because I am truly unsure about this: can these same ads that are injecting themselves into the site cause spambots to post those ridiculous offers in an insane speed? Because if that's the case, there's gonna be a major problem looming in the community. >_>; (If my question was stupid, don't insult me for it, I was actually asking.) |

Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
happens to me too, same with fling.com
FIX THIS NOW FFR! What type of injection are they using? If so, you might be able to stop it, there's many different programming forms that allow injections and different ways to stop them Last edited by stavie33; 02-25-2009 at 11:40 AM.. |

Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
Oddly enough, while viewing this thread i was redirected once to blackpeoplemeet.com and then to a yellowpages search thing for "chocolate in milwaukee". But its nice to see that others share my pain (not to say that i like to see people in pain, of course)
Has anyone else been redirected during a song? i was also just redirected to a http://my.amazingfreerewards.com/Spl...&s=50115&se=02 Last edited by poiu l; 02-25-2009 at 10:37 PM.. |

Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
guys... we want to fix this, but we need your help to do so. if this happens to you, please screenshot the FFR page with the ads that are showing, and if possible (really, the most important thing we need), copy the URLs of the ads so we can target and remove them.
otherwise, this: [12:09] Synthlight: Still no idea where it is coming from. My only solution would be to block out all ads for 1-2 days and then try to bring back one at a time because essentially it could be coming from any of 10000+ advertisers from our 10+ ad companies.

Re: Blackpeoplemeet.com
Of note: while it happens, there is NO ad showing in the top left adbar. If I see an ad up there, it doesn't seem to happen (for the last 10 page loads, at least, for what it's worth.) AdblockPlus shows no blockable items on the page during an episode of this redirection.
If you click stop as soon as the site starts redirecting, the issue stops. This makes me think it's just a script that runs once as opposed to implanted malware. Presumably, this makes it javascript. If anyone has a program that can track scripts that are running, it probably wouldn't be a waste of time to see if you can catch this script firing. Here's a screenshot of all the cookies I have stored from blackpeoplemeet:
