Calling All Techno/ Rave Music Experts
For someone who loves raves and techno music, what are some awesome songs? I need more music and my rave buds are surprisingly unhelpful....

Re: Calling All Techno/ Rave Music Experts
Specify what exactly you like and some subgenres.
also, please post some of what you already have so we don't repeat ourselves.

Re: Calling All Techno/ Rave Music Experts
I listen to a bit of everything but here is a decently mainstream artist, DJ splash. Don't know if you like his style but check him out if you haven't.

Re: Calling All Techno/ Rave Music Experts
Most of the music I've been listening to lately is by Basshunter or are songs that are similar i.e. I am X-Ray, Daddy DJ, DJ PlocX, DJ-Nate, etc...

Re: Calling All Techno/ Rave Music Experts
Aw, dammit. As soon as I saw Basshunter...
For Rave music, if you're willing to go out there, Dubstep is kinda like rave music. But it's a lot sicker. Check out the albums London Zoo by The Bug and Untrue by Burial. Also check out Dubstep's sister genres, Grime and 2-Step. However, since you listed Basshunter, which is like techno, I doubt you want this. But it's sick anyhow.

Re: Calling All Techno/ Rave Music Experts
Ah, although I like Basshunter a lot, he's not exactly "rave". There are lots of problems with all these subgenres.
Are we talking House, Techno, Rave, Trance..? If you want great electronic music on principle, check out some of the French electronic music like Daft Punk, Danger, TEPR, Teenage Bad Girl, Les Rhythmes Digitales, etc. Other great electronic music.. there's a whole host of music. Here's a few sample songs: In Your Machine - Alex Metric Idealistic - Digitalism The Birds - Telefon Tel Aviv (Immolate Yourself is a great album) Cities of the Future - Infected Mushroom Sandstorm - Darude (a classic) Fun Punch- Bag Raiders Beauty Never Fades - Junkie XL Laughing Gas - Juno Reactor Marrakech- ATB Get Ready to Bounce - Brooklyn Bounce etc. Varied subgenres but it's all electronic.. give me a better feel for what you want.

For myself, I am a HUGE fan of vocal house, hardhouse, trance, etc. You might want to check out my friend Dj Kakumei. He makes these badass hour long Rave/Hardhouse mixes that are amazing.

Go for Infected Mushroom.
Cities of the Future, Frog Machine, IM the Supervisor, Deeply Disturbed, Scorpion Frog, and basically anything from Classical Mushroom. Those are the ones I like 90% of the Converting Vegetarians album is good too.

In order to help you, we need to know what genra of techno you like and we need to know the specifics like for instance, electrohouse, Gabba, House, Ambiance, Hardhouse, Hardstyle etc..... Heres a good radio station that I listen to a lot. It has a lot of genras that you can listen to and its awsome. I listen there all the time. Its called Digitally Imported. For some reason, the website isn't showing up.. Will have to post online. You can google it and Yahoo it. It should be the very first option.
