Re: Finally finished the most epically fun file ever.
I found the file unfun overall. I didn't like the fact that you used 24ths sometimes and 32nds at others, and how parts of the jumpstream were inconsistent, and one part where the JS wasn't needed.
But I'm not professional stepartist so whatever

it's not a big deal if he restepped a well known simfile/song, but calling his own file the most fun file is kinda retarded in general.

Re: Finally finished the most epically fun file ever.
My turn.
And I've never played the original, all these are just opinions of the song by itself. First. what on EARTH were you doing with jumps and hands through the whole thing. they don't make sense. at all. anywhere. same goes for jacks. most of the jacks you have are completely random. the guitar doesn't have jacks like that. only the bass. It's basically just jumpdumpstream for the whole song. the gap is off .2 as well. +? if I were a judge. |

Re: Finally finished the most epically fun file ever.
It was okay... but it wasn't worth a v2. Jacks were misplaced/moved around and the trills didn't really match. But to be honest, if I played this file before Zagh's, I'd think it was fun.
Meh, I'll definitely try for an SDG. EDIT: Stop spamming, djr...

Re: Finally finished the most epically fun file ever.
if you play the original all it is, is hand after hand after hand, none of which made sense

About your file: 1) I like how it's more playable and fun; it's nice to have something to read rather than just "your left hand trills and your right hand hits jumps for 8 measures, okay now switch hands". I thought the placement of jump trills during the jumpstream was pretty good too; since you haven't completely filled the screen with arrows, there's actually some contrast there, which I enjoyed. 2) Near the beginning the minijacks seemed a bit randomly placed, but in the slow section in the middle they fit the music quite well. The 4-note jacks were fun. 3) I thought the 24th stream was a good decision, although I couldn't really read it due to the speed. I wasn't entirely sure about the 32nds but maybe I just couldn't hear them well enough. 4) After the first small group of 32nds, there are some places where the main guitar melody pauses a bit; maybe it would be good to have a small pause in the jumpstream there? It would interfere with the whole 'solid jumpstream' thing, but I think it might make the file a little more fun and interesting/unique. 5) I got an A, lol. 18.1 million :P

Re: Finally finished the most epically fun file ever.
L0ne I'm not a simfile artist, just a hater of files that just use to many doubles and such. (This you knew.) But I have to say dude, the file seemed off beat to me. (Maybe it's just cause I suck at SM) Personally I like the way the file looks. It's just got doubles in odd places, same with the jacks (I <3 jacks.) Also instead of wimpy trills all over and jump streams put a running man (or 5) in eh? Seams like a dump because there's not much alteration in patterns (actually there is none really. Looks like a cluster ****.)

Re: Finally finished the most epically fun file ever.
Threads like these are why I dont come on these boards much at all anymore. About 50 posts in this thread are unnecessary/retarded/nonsensical/dumb arguments/postwhoring etc. etc. Jesus. Just critique the mans file. Oh, and btw lone, you need to take the criticism in this thread for what it is; an opinion. Not everyone is going to love your file.
That is all. Continue being a bunch of dumbasses. |
