Most People Ever Online
Most users ever online was 7,599, May 20th, 2008 at 05:52 PM.
I just noticed this at the bottom of the forum page. Compared to the ~1.5 million members (I'm aware this is hardly accurate but still), this is weak! I think staff should run a contest to see how many we can get online in one day. Maybe have some sort of credit incentive, which you can win just from being online on that day, at that time. What do you guys think?

Hell, I would do it without an incentive.

Re: Most People Ever Online
I see you have to taken in account that a high percentage of the accounts are alternate accounts, or accounts from people that just left/registered for no reason, leaving a small amount of supporters/members who enjoy playing FFR. With the gambling plague that occured (loss of credits), I think everyone would be motivated to be online on a specified day to regain a bit... I wouldn't mind earning credits. Still, I can't help but seeing this as pointless, even though a record is going to be broken. Then again, the Top Daily, All Time Statistics: Grand Total contest was pretty pointless, aside from winning vrofl and being on that certain top 10 board so, who knows, it might be considered by the staff.

Re: Most People Ever Online
the die hards would do it either way, but if we wanted to get a LOT of people we'd need prizes too. Think about how many unheard of people join the official tournys.

Re: Most People Ever Online
God, thank you.
We don't need to compel 8,000 people to log on...that's just kinda dumb, and I don't want to time out on all the pages I go to because the bandwidth of the site has been sucked dry by newbs. Sorry, but I don't really like this idea. |

You just realized that was there, lol? I kinda like the idea. It's not like 'OMG IF WE DON'T DO IT I'M NUKING CHINA!' but it's worth a shot.

Re: Most People Ever Online
Lol there's no real point to this at all, it would be just be for sitewide bragging rights really. It seems to me like something that Tass would be interested in so hopefully he'll read this.
And Foil i think you could probably survive 1 whole day without your ffr forums being lightspeed.

I'd die if they were all bogged down. To be honest, I have no idea how we managed 7,599. I was active that day, I am sure, and I don't remember anything special...the most I've ever seen was like 5K. |

Re: Most People Ever Online
It's just a photoshop, reptile.
But no, I don't support this idea. I don't want pages to take 5 minutes to load, and giving credits to every user that simply signs in is motivational, but still not a good idea. |

I didn't say every person should get credits, just random draws or spontaneous forum contests or something. And I'm doubting we could get enough people online to noticeably affect the loading page speed. But yeah i don't really care either way lol this thread can die

Re: Most People Ever Online
We could get 10,000 if we tried hard enough. I don't think it's going to happen tho.

Re: Most People Ever Online
Rather than looking at the 1.5 million, try looking at the active users part.
Active Members: 60,900 Most Users Online: 7,599 That's 12.4% of all active members on at the same time on one day. Although not impressive it's still pretty decent. |
