My first post =)
I won't be taking part in this, as I have something on that day, but here's what I would suggest, for those of you with programming (scripting language) abilities: -Start a new account. Take note of the levelranks of everything. -Write a script that probes every single song and find out the song length (the length's given in the song's page). -Divide the (levelrank - 1) by the length. This tells you roughly how much rank you are getting per second on that song, assuming you AAA. -Sort in decreasing order. Of course, this assumes that you *will* AAA the song, but I suppose you can always correct for that during the actual competition itself. After all, the key limiting factor here is time, not skill (assuming you're sufficiently skillful), because I don't think 24 hours is sufficient time to play every song in the game - could be wrong, though. |

That being said, I highly doubt anyone will manage to play every song. One crucial thing to bear in mind for participants is that this competition will not be about AAA'ing. With most songs bearing an initial rank in the tens of thousands, any song left untouched by the competition's conclusion will add a significant (or more specifically, initial rank / # of public songs) to the player's average. Ten AR points may not seem like much, but that translates to 10,000 ranks. To compensate for that, a player would have to score an average of ~10 ranks better than otherwise on EVERY SINGLE SONG. Example: Suppose FFR has 1,000 ranked public songs. P1 has played 1,000 songs. P2 has played 990 songs. They both score an average of 100 on songs played. On the 10 untouched songs, P2 has an average rank of 10,000. P1 has 100,000 total rank points. P2 has 99,000 + 10 * 10,000 = 199,000 total rank points. The difference is 99,000 rank points distributable over 990 songs. The average rank shift needed to offset the loss is therefore 99,000 / 990 = 100 average rank points. What that means is, in order to simply tie P1 (who gets a rank of about 100 on every song), P2 has to get a rank-0 on every single song he/she plays. That player would need nine-hundred ninety rank-0's. He/she would need 990 rank-0's. That's as many as ninety-nine tens. And that's terrible. I don't know why everyone is coming up with such weird ass strategies. This is very easy:
Go to your levelranks page. Scroll to the bottom. Play the last song, get a good rank. Play the next song up, get a good rank. Etc, etc. This is the fastest way to get your av rank down because you're knocking off the worst ranks first. If you don't have credits to play a secret song when it pops up, just don't play it. Wait until you have enough credits from whoring half the game. |

Tass said he is going to mass wipe all of the GWC accounts before the competition day, so it does not really matter what you do beforehand. Unlock away, it will not matter in the long run.

Someone could pre AAA every song they can after preloading the songs and unplugging the internet. Plugging in your internet would register every score and you could drop to a 200 average rank instantly.
That or you could preload every song in order on the new account in seperate tabs. Let it sit at the results screen and then come competition day, play through every tab by just pressing replay this song. |

p.s. This has more strategy than you guys seem to think...I'll post some of my thoughts to help y'all, as I can't/won't compete.
Consider the following: -It's drastically unlikely that anyone will sit the full 24 hours to play every song available and still be AAA'ing everything or really even anything. Mashing vrofl for that amount of time is one thing since you don't even have to look at the screen for that, but even for easier songs like 5's and 6's you have to have some degree of concentration to AAA stuff, and staring at a screen for that long is going to be very, very hard. Maybe someone will have the dedication, free time, and skill that this requires, but I doubt it. -Shorter songs should absolutely take priority. Anyone who plays through the entirety of FFLBF as anything but the very last song is using poor strategy. Similarly, everyone should play and AAA Excite Bike immediately. It's worth your time to calculate the rank points vs length of songs beforehand, if you want to have a chance of placing top5 without spending 24 hours. -Older songs, or popular/very played songs, should obviously take priority as well. No one should play Holy Orders for this even if they do get the credits for it (which they won't sans some kind of incredible gambling luck), since it's worthless rank-wise, and the default rank will suffice. -Quitting out of songs or even using autofail is a very viable strategy, as that will shave off thousands of rank points while saving a lot of time. -There's a proper order to get the Secret and Purchased songs in. -Preload everything, as someone else already said, unless your connection is so good that loading times are trivial. -AAA'ing is unimportant for the harder songs, but crucial for the easy songs. Quit-outs are incredibly useful for FMO's and FGO's, especially the old/popular/long ones. I would guess that comboing the first 300 notes of FotBB and quitting out is a far better rank/time investment than AAA'ing it. -NEVER replay any song except for maybe Excite Bike. Even if you **** up Mario or something and get a good, the replay isn't even close to worth it rank-point wise. -Don't forget that token songs don't count. yeah, this competition's pretty awesome, hahaha, way better than the grandtotal one.
