Why is this happening?
Now, every time I play a song, when I hit a certain arrow, it often misses for no reason. It seems to happen ramdomly, since I've tested and the four buttons are working fine in the game. It's happening even in the easiest songs, and it has never happened before! What am I supposed to do?

Re: Why is this happening?
Your keyboard is probably beginning to lose its ability to read the buttons from all the excess mashing it undergoes. ;P

Re: Why is this happening?
There are a couple of things it could be.
1. You could be on a Vista computer which often causes things like this. 2. Your keyboard could be broken. Try mapping your keys and see if you are still experiencing problems. If not, then the keys you were using currently are messed up. 3. You could be on a wireless keyboard (causes things like this to happen) 4.Maybe the game is lagging for you. Try putting the game on low quality and see if that helps. 5. I am not trying to be rude in anyway, but you could simply just be missing the arrows yourself...This is most likely not the problem, but I can't simply rule the possibility out. Hope all this helps. |

It only lags on the songs with images, like Delirium and Flight of The Bumblebee(i'll probably never AAA these songs...) 5. Hehe... No, I'm pretty positive I'm not mising them. But thanks for the answer. Last edited by mhss1992; 07-27-2008 at 11:27 AM.. |

Re: Why is this happening?
Well, since you say you're on a vista, that is most likely your problem. Go to this thread. It should help you out.

Re: Why is this happening?
Thanks! I'll try to do it later... I wonder why it started malfunctioning so suddenly.

Re: Why is this happening?
I am having the same problem as well -- was working fine two days ago and now whenever I play every 20-30 notes or so notes will just randomly miss. Yes, I am using Vista but it was a fresh install (not an upgrade.)

Re: Why is this happening?
There is something called Dragmiss that could be happening. it happens when your going to hit another arrow but accidentally hit the other arrow before releasing the other two you were holding.
Ex. Hits a jump, goes to hit a single note directly after it, keeps the jump held down a bit too long.

Re: Why is this happening?
A dragmiss would only occur on a keyboard that cannot register 4 keys at one time, correct?

Re: Why is this happening?
Observing more carefully this time, it seems like the notes that are misses are first judged as perfects then changing to misses. Maybe someone has seen this before?
Hopefully the answer is not 'get XP'... Edit: Not actually happening like this. At random, it seems that a certain arrow just won't register despite the fact that I'm pushing the button. I have tried changing key configurations but that did not help, and it happens completely at random. It's still 100% guaranteed that this is a bug or hardware issue, because I am definitely pushing the button at least near the note and it is not coming up as a Boo or anything, it just doesn't register. Spoke a bit too soon, it looked like the above on faster streaming songs because the note immediately after (or the 'other' note on jump) will register as Perfect immediately after the key randomly misses. Re: Why is this happening?
Just try not to do songs with hands or quads, like Blooddrunk...

EDIT: Oh wait... Those would be boos right? =\ If they're perfect first then misses... Then I doubt it's a probleme with the keyboard, and probably not the OS neither. |

Re: Why is this happening?
i dont know why everyone keeps blaming vista for problems. ive had it since it came out and ive yet to come across any problems when playing ffr (no lag, no random misses, nothing). it may be because i have an insane computer but idk.

Re: Why is this happening?
Same for me. But I do have an insane computer too. The lags are because most people don't have insane spec but Vista as their os. In exemple, 1 gb of ram with XP is plenty, 1gb of ram with Vista is more like 256 mb since Vista takes so much ram... And FFR seems to require much RAM in order to be able to play normal on songs with a lot of arrows (10-12 mostly). Before I changed computer it lagged a lot but I didn't had Vista. And I had 1 gb ram. Do the math. (Well my CPU wasn't much better but you get the point)

Re: Why is this happening?
Here's the thing.
My computer has Vista, about 2GB of RAM. I'm pretty sure the basic setup of my computer is not the problem, as last week I could play fine (although I still would love to blame my serious disproprtion of FCs to AAAs on Vista, haha.) Earlier this week, it looked like they released some kind of patch or something -- at the beginning when the game loads it said something like '865Kb loading' before and now it's 874. Ever since then, no matter what song I play, I just get random misses. I'm 100% sure I'm hitting the notes on the dot. Seriously, I've FCed enough songs to know, so it's definitely not me. Like I said it even looks like it's being judged a Perfect then suddenly changing to misses. Do any of the moderators/developers of the have any idea? Anyone I can PM perhaps since they might not be reading this thread? I can't play FFR anymore because this problem is so bad. |
