Re: Firefox Achieves Download Record
Recall the Internet Explorer 6 Upgrade when it was released to people running Windows 98.
On topic, The author of my favorite FF theme updated it for compatibility with Firefox 3. I've been using it since FF 3 came out :P

Re: Firefox Achieves Download Record
Just tried Firefox. I love the interface, but I couldn't get the Flash plugin to download. But that's just because I'm not on administrator. When I get my mom or dad to log in to the admin account I'll download FF with all of the desired plugins. Otherwise I'd gladly switch from IE.

Re: Firefox Achieves Download Record
Has nothing to do with FireFox. It just means you didn't setup things properly.

Re: Firefox Achieves Download Record
I still think FF is the best. I've been using it for years now on every computer I've used, and it always shows me what I need, and never had problems. ^^

FF also has Adblock Plus as an extension, which makes it win hands down.

i <3 FF for its script-blocker and the fact that it just runs smoothly. I don't particularly enjoy waiting for IE to start-up much less wait for it to tell me I haven't updated it in ages :O

Re: Firefox Achieves Download Record
I thought it was something related to Flash performance in FF vs. IE. Regardless, I have only one computer with XP (others are Vista...can't play FFR on those), so I haven't come across an instance where FFR runs better than IE, and for me it's definitely better in IE. This is especially proven when using tabs. Many tabs in IE result in no lag spikes, whereas the opposite is true in FF. Then again, it may just be because I only have 750 MB of RAM + an old 2.0 GHz processor...my theory is that FFR runs better in FF3 on faster computers, and better in IE on slower computers. Kinda like with Vista and XP (in this analogy Vista replaces FF3 and XP replaces IE).
