Re: Ap Exams :-$
well.. idk what to tell you.. I'm a freshman, but I have to take my AP euro on friday, but I got a 3 on the practice so I was all screw studying, because I never have/do. So Good Luck and bring a Magic 8 Ball. I used one on my history midterm on every question and got a 100.

AP Computer Science, then....I took it, and honestly? I think I might've gotten a 4. I got a 1 on the practice exam, but only because I hardly finished anything. I was mostly distracted by thinking about a certain...significant other of mine. >////>; I finished exactly two of the four free response questions on the practice, but I only missed a point-and-a-half between the two of them (each question is nine points). The multiple choice was almost as bad/good--I just finished the 17th out of 40 questions on the practice, while skipping one and getting three wrong. So, what I had was extremely good. In terms of the actual AP CS exam, however, I got a lot more done than I did on the practice. I made the free response my BIYOTCH (except for the fourth one which I didn't get to). I even programmed recursion for the first time in my LIFE on the third question. So, yeah, feeling accomplished. The multiple choice section went a bit smoother, as well. The last ten questions though, holy CRAP. Those were like, the longest questions on the entire frigging test!! How dare they put those at the end. XP

And please, it takes a lot less time to figure out what the chords are than you think it does. It's definitely the simplest part of those questions. I may not have absolutely perfect pitch, but that's only because I have it in the sense that I hear everything as I would hear it in a Bb transposition. But then I'd just like to thank the AP exam for giving the starting note, since I'm amazing at figuring out intervals. Also, I'm not doing as bad as I thought I did, and I don't have any reason to worry about the dictation anymore. I just have to not doubt my answers (everything I got wrong on my practice exam had the right answer originally, but I doubted myself, so I've gotta stop doing that) and work on doing the other dictations in a set time limit. Re: Ap Exams :-$
Our class reviewed the government essays today. I think I may have gotten a 4 now. =_=;;
We're not allowed to talk about the multiple choice... but we did anyway. Can't wait for next year. 6 AP tests, gogo.

If you go into a music field, you will have to go through ear training exercises, and you will be taught based on relative pitch (which is what I've had for the longest time). Basically, having relative pitch helps more on this test. Many people hear the first note of their sight-singing, and if they've developed relative pitch, they will hear the pitch and hear it as what they are used to (like, I hear a C as a D, because in the Bb transposition, concert C is a D scale) and go from there. They recognize the intervals from what they're used to, then they convert that back into the non-transposed version. This may seem confusing, yeah, but for those who have been trained, it's all happening as the piece is playing. But what if there is something you hear that you have to transpose? You hear the tonal center and are able to easily work from there if you have relative pitch, but with perfect pitch, transposing will become more difficult, because the way you hear it, you'll think the transposition is wrong. Not to mention that if something is not tuned to the standard tuning pitch (right on the dot of in tune on tuners), people with perfect pitch will have more trouble in said orchestra. tl;dr: Relative pitch helps more. :3 |

New topic: For those who took that AP English Lit today, what book did you choose for your last essay?

I nailed essay 2 and did decent on essay 1. Multiple choice I felt I did mediocre but I think my writing will make up for it.

The three free-response questions today were all ridiculously easy compared to the previous years. Poem I could actually understand, which is amazing, and the excerpt from Fasting, Feasting (I think that's what it's called) was pretty easy as well. MC wasn't particularly difficult either. Hoping for a 4.

Re: Ap Exams :-$
AP Chemistry, AP Language, and then AP World. So far... I can perdict getting like a 3,4,or 5 on any of those exams (not a 3 on world). The thing is I keep practicing real exams, but just multiple choice so far. Now it's up to me to pull everything togather by next Tuesday, the beggining of my three tests. Just out of curiosity, anyone take those classes?

Re: Ap Exams :-$
Try out the free-response questions soon, then...that's a lot of points that could screw up your score if you don't get them (go to CollegeBoard, AP, and then the specific AP course you want; then click on Sample Questions & Scoring, which will have years' worth of free-response).
I'm doing AP Chem on Tuesday; it doesn't seem too hard, but it's difficult to accept that I will be parted from my beloved TI-89 Titanium during the multiple choice.

MC on the other hand, was not as easy for me, since there were a few things I know I got wrong. But I know I chose "bigot" correctly, after narrowing it down to either that or "boor."

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE.[/altered beast this ****]
So, Music Theory was today. Holy crap, the melodic dictation and sight-singing decimated me. ;-; Good thing sight-singing isn't worth that much, and I'm semi-confident about everything else. |

Well, I was raped by AP Biology...probably a 4, possibly a 5. Still rape, though. I'll revisit Bubba for tomorrow; AP Chemistry will hopefully be less *cough* brutal.
