Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
My dad says that if I keep playing FFR, I might get carpal tunnel syndrome.
Has anyone on FFR experienced carpal tunnel syndrome from too much gameplay? |

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
If you play with one hand, you will almost certainly get it. Play with two hands, and don't play more than 2 hours a day and you'll probably be safe.

Weird, I could swear I've seen a thread almost exactly like this before.

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
I had a minor ganglion cyst before playing FFR, and when I started to play heavily it inflamed quite a bit. FFR did not cause it, but it sure did make the condition worse. So if you have had any previous issues with your wrist or joints, take it slow.

Yes, you can get it. But it's EXTREMELY rare. Don't worry too much about getting it though, because before you get Carpal tunnel (which is basically a permanent/severe form of repetitive strain injury [RSI]), you will get a minor case of RSI in the wrist. I've gotten RSI in my wrist quite a few times from this game. Ultimately, just don't overplay, and when and if you DO get RSI, give the game a break for a week or two. The chances of you getting CTS from this game is EXTREMELY unlikely, anyway, but possible.

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Your bound to get it if your playing FFR.
I've only been playing about eight months or so, gotten into playing heavily in the past two months. I'm pretty sure I'm starting to get it because sometimes in mid-song my wrist will start to ache only a little bit, and in really fast parts my fingers seem to lock up. FFR = CTS |

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
I deleted it because I posted it without searching.
Someone actually has posted a thread about coming down with Carpal Tunnel, along with a doctor's note to prove it. I think if you do anything excessively, you're bound to get hurt. Personally, I'm on my computer roughly 10 hours a day and have been for the past 14 years. I'm 21 years old and I don't have any pain in my hands at all, let alone Carpal Tunnel. |

You're more likely to get it just from typing on a QWERTY keyboard.

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Before getting CTS, you have to get good and to get good you need lots of practise aka exercise for your wrists.

Re: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
You'll get arthritis in your fingers if you keep playing FFR over the course of about 20 years.

i've personally never worried about getting carpal tunnel, but my mom screams at me that i'll get it ever time i play for longer than an hour..... but i think there's a better chance of NOT getting ct than getting it. |
