Re: FFR Hall of Fame
Take a look at those top ten players threads in the brag board from way back... 03 - 04 was basically all about stepmania here anyway and that's what all the top players bragged about. nima, reach were the top two sm (and ffr?) and jimerax of course was the number one ranked ffr player.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
reach and nima were at the top of the FFR class list. especially Nima... under both Nima and SMGod.
Ridder was another good addition... he was right up there in time played for the first few years, and right up at the top in skill. I still say refer to my list. I'm sure I missed a few, but Nima, Baha, jx, Linus, Banditcom... even Robby and Alain... all were the class of the site. Recall who won the 1st FFR League, Expert Division... linus.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
I believe that after the three judges from one era nominate someone, the judges from previous eras have to approve that nomination. We really don't need more than three judges per era if you look at the whole process, so I think three judges per era is fine.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
honestly the era thing seems kind of silly... why not just nominate people for the hof and have a panel that votes on them? (like devonin (?) was saying earlier). different categories for players and simartists and whatnot makes sense of course.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
This thread MUST chronicle all results of Dumbass of the Year awards. What a great space to store those vital statistics!
QreepyBoris or w/e his name is needs to get on this list for something, otherwise I'd be sad.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
So, the overall consensus is that the "actual list" should not be separated in eras?
Judging will still remain the same, considering each person we nominate and accept we'll be weighing down their accomplishments with the others of their era. Anyway, we'll have a complete list, and just a list, for players. The rest of the categories will still work the same. EDIT: The only reason why I was leaving everything into eras was because it would make more sense for organization. If we're going to adding artists, simfiles, SiU, mods, admins, DAoTY, etc, would you rather have everything thrown on one list together, with the years in parenthesis? Or rather have it go by year, followed by everything we're going to be placing in the HoF under each year? I want this to be agree'd upon, rather than having mixed opinions. Re: FFR Hall of Fame
I really think the era idea is necessary. The game and site are completely different now from when I first joined, and I haven't been here that long. Comparing the game from back then to now isn't possible. Just look at the AIM Anthem thread when it was first released, what was an insane score back then probably wouldn't even be top 300 today.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
If we are to go along with eras idea, imo it should be organized as follows:
//////////// Hall of Fame Introduction ~-~-~-~ ~-~-~-~ ~-~-~-~ Era 1: (date - date) Era 2: (date - date) Era 3: (date - date) etc. Era 1 Inductee Name Profile/Background Info Era 1 accomplishments Era 2 accomplishments (if applicable) Era 3 accomplishments (if applicable) Misc. accomplishments (if applicable) Era 2 Inductee Name Profile/Background Info Era 1 accomplishments (if applicable) Era 2 accomplishments Era 3 accomplishments (if applicable) Misc. accomplishments (if applicable) Era 3 Inductee Name Profile/Background Info Era 1 accomplishments (if applicable) Era 2 accomplishments (if applicable) Era 3 accomplishments Misc. accomplishments (if applicable) ~-~-~-~ ~-~-~-~ ~-~-~-~ Hall of Fame Conclusion (if needed) //////////// Something like that (with stuff added in and taken out as necessary, of course)...: / As you can see, the inductees would be put into the era to which they most belong. Any accomplishments from other eras would simply be listed in addition to those already included. |

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
...
okay? i guess? I was thinking I'd just be a top simfile contributor during 07-ish. I was pretty much at the start of Tass's new review scheme, in fact {Rose} was in the first batch. I guess that makes me inportant in the "new era" but revolutionized everything? I'd say Shash or even Tass himself did that more than I did...

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
I wouldn't exactly say revolutionized, but imo, together, hi19 and Rebirth shattered the barriers of FFR filestepping.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
i'd say eras are worthless. make it 1 list, and in parenthasis, put the era and/or the reason for them being in the HoF... such as 2003-2004 player, early simfile artist, etc etc.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
Failing Excite Bike 80,000 times isn't Hall of Fame material. IMO, you'd be a perfect candidate for the Hall of Shame if it were made.

So unloved. Probably went unnoticed early on only because of Cutting Circles, too. But I think her later files (Szamar Madar anyone?) paved the way for a lot of the technical files, especially BDN's style. Also, there's jimerax and macgravel and... high output != high quality
