Default Rest in Peace Mr. Wizard...

Don Herbert, who as television's "Mr. Wizard" introduced generations of young viewers to the joys of science, died Tuesday of bone cancer.

He inspired me as a child and is one of the reasons why I am in the sciences today.

He shall be missed.

Bill Nye is a goofy version of what Mr. Wizard was. He would do experiments that you could do at home. Something I learned from his show actually even helped me answer a prelim question, namely about the expansion of an aperture with tempeture increase. He had a metal ball on a stick and a metal ring. The ball would not fit through the ring. He heated up the ring and then the ball could fit through the ring. Fun stuff. I won't bore you with the prelim question.

Here's his website: http://www.mrwizardstudios.com/
