    Back on the Grind

Hey everyone! I’ve recently fallen back down the FFR rabbit hole, and it reminded me why I started playing in the first place: the progression systems. Between the various ranks and skill metrics, there are so many ways to track how you improve and also how you stack up against the community.

While I love the thrill of tournaments and chasing new equiv, I’ve always had a massive drive to fill up those AAA, FC, and Tier Point bars on my profile. Right now, I’m tackling my unplayed library and aiming to AAA everything under 50 and FC everything under 75.

I wanted to start this thread for anyone else chasing a specific milestone. What are you working toward? Is it pushing your Equiv, grinding AAAs, or just trying to clear every song in the game?

One of my main goals currently is to someday hit top 100 in every category except Skill Rating and Tier Points. I'm already top 100 in basically all playtime statistics and have the skill level necessary to grind out the AAA's and FC's I need. And someday I would like to be #3 of the Netherlands again, though that's still a while away I feel like...

Also! Maybe helping out on the development side of things in the future, or staff team, currently I'm too chronically ill to commit to such things right now but I have ambition to keep FFR lively and fun for the foreseeable future!
Top AAA: Policy In The Sky! [Oni] [79]
Top SDG: Memories in the Blue [87]
Top FC: Title (Double Dragon) [89]

Top Score: Memories in the Blue [87]
      5 - 0 - 0 - 1 / 84.45 EQ

Where do you see your rank for the Netherlands?

and what are the playtime statistics that you're top 100 in?

You're further along than I am since I've been away for the better part of a decade but I'll try to keep my motivation up to at least play every file in game.

I also realized I'm close to getting D6 so I should probably add that as a goal as well

                Re: Back on the Grind

For us young players, if we want to achieve a specific goal, such as chasing AAA and FC, or EQ, we need to invest our energy in improving to the extreme level. At least reach the Delta level or get close to our own limit (Despite can't approach Delta). Only after reaching this level can we easily improve our accuracy, thereby achieving high EQ on songs above level 100, or easily getting AAA on almost all songs below level 100.

As for me, when I first started playing these kinds of games, I focused on improving my own level. During the process of improving, I gradually learned to appreciate the music, appreciate the charts, and felt happy to play charts that were well-known in the community. Nowadays, even though I am still focused on improving my level, I have never frantically go through all kinds of practice packs. Instead, I enjoy the good music, enjoy the progress in my skill, and watch the once seemingly insurmountable challenges being easily overcome. In this way, 4key brings me entirely positive experiences.

                  Re: Back on the Grind

I'm currently trying to grind down my average rank, I've learned that by looking at all my ranks of each of the charts I've been able to enjoy grinding a lot better compared to trying to go straight for the yellow dot in each difficulty category. If you have seen my profile recently I've been able to consistently put in grinding sessions, and I think this is because by playing highest ranked charts I always get a different variety of difficulty throughout my grinding session. So yeah I hope I can get most of the AAAs very very soon
