Mute = No More Emotion

NSane is hard at work, and his newest feature is being tested on the beta for all our blue folk (aka subscribers). It is mute buttons for the menu music and the score screen music.  Each one has a button…  and they’re works in progress.  Expect them to save your choice in the near future.

Also expect the ability to select ANY song as your menu music soon.

Don’t forget to subscribe for these cool features and many more!

T-Shirt Sale! Woo Woo… T-Shirt Sale!

Now that summer is here, I know all of you guys want a snazzy FFR T-shirt.  Well, now you can get one for cheap!  All t-shirts are $5 off from now until June 14th.  We’re sad to say that there are no more FFR Guy shirts or All Skill shirts…  but we do have Top 1000 shirts in M, L, and XXL and the badass awesome jealousy of all your friends One Minute Waltz shirts in M, L, and XL.

Use promo code: KeyCloset to save $5 on each and every t-shirt that you order, and expect them on your doorstep in about a week.  As the promo code suggests…  Mr. JasonKey is a bit tired of having all these shirts in his closet, so help him free up some space!

Also, be on the lookout for contests with t-shirt prizes!

Where am I? Well… now I know!

Hey everyone!  LD here… For some time now the usermap hasn’t been working.  For those of you who don’t know, the usermap is a tool to see what FFR users are around you!  Well, I had a few minutes this afternoon and decided to muddle around in the code and see what was up!

Tass gave me an hour to fix the usermap… Well, it took about 8 seconds, so I give you the functional User Map once again!

In the words of Tass, Praise can be directed towards me, complaints to Tass…  Keep your eyes peeled to the main page and our Twitter account throughout the week for more updates!

Ask & Receive! TOKEN!!!

You guys all wanted a new token…  so LD decided to bring one to life.  All compliments can go to me…  all complaints to LD.  :)

This token is an achievement token.  Get a positive score on every public song, then check your levelrank and you’ll unlock PianoCore by hi19hi19.  Song is by x0-000 and I think the trills and weird jump-16th/24th things makes it a low FMO, but I’m open to making it a VC.

Enjoy and continue to look for new stuff in the coming days and weeks!

Simfile DB Fixed! Gambling Hall Dead :(

I’m sorry guys…  the internet police have officially given up their search for our missing gambling hall.  It is presumed dead.  Maybe one day we’ll find the body afloat in the river, or a hiker will discover half-eaten pieces off a rarely used trail.  Who knows.  It is a sad day…  shed a tear with me.

Juxaposed to that sadness, the simfile db is officially fixed.  There had been issues since mid-April, but no more!  And expect none in the future for many years.  So upload all your kickass charts today!

Gambling Hall Vanishes!

Posted in FFR News, Flash Flash Revolution on May 27th, 2009103 Comments »

Hey guys.  Wanted to let you know that sometime between last night and right now, I noticed the gambling hall disappeared.  We’re investigating heavily to find out what happened…  and the internet police have been called in.  We’re afraid of an abduction or possible robbery.  No ransom call has been made yet, but we fear it’ll come at any time.  So say a prayer for the gambling hall, that it may be returned to us safely and quickly.

Also, expect to see some more tweaks, fixes, and updates over the next week or two.  lightdarkness is back on the scene for php work and NSane is lending a hand for all things flash (even his tatas!).

Things should get exciting!  If you have any suggestions for bug fixes or site/game updates…  post them in the comments.

LD EDIT: We’ll be tracking the story on Twitter on the Official FFR Account…

Memorial Day Special Release & Random Updates

I figured we hadn’t done a special release in a while…  so I wanted to do something for you guys.  Enter Ievan Polkka, by Otomania, quite possibly the catchiest song ever.  It may sound familiar, as Pretty Green Onions is a mix of the same song.  IMO, it’s a Low FMO…  the jumpjacks with 3-framers are JUST enough to make it not be VC, but I’m willing to listen to other opinions.  Mad props to my main man jimerax for this awesomely fun chart that you will won’t be able to stop playing.  Oh yeah…  it’s on Page 1 of Dance2 for easy access.

In other news, I haven’t forgotten about all of you.  Don’t think that I have.  :(.  The P4U fix that resulted in the chart being offsync is being worked on again, and should be sync’d by the time you read this.  Also, I like cake.

-Tass

Oh yeah…  if you care about the batch, notes should be up tomorrow.  Maybe I’ll even be nice enough to unlock the discussion thread.

Server Issues on Forum

Hey guys,

We’re aware of the forum issues going on intermittently. We should have everything fixed soon.

edit: Should be fixed!

Tass Tips – General Gaming Strategies

Posted in FFR News on April 14th, 200957 Comments »

Hey guys. I haven’t had much to put up on the front page recently… but in my spare time, I like to make videos. A few weeks back, I decided to start a video blog to help casual gamers on a broad scale. Instead of showing people specifically how to beat one game, I was going to give them strategies to help across all games. These videos are mostly geared towards Flash Games, including FFR, but can apply to other casual games (and potentially console/PC games) as well.

This is my 3rd installment. It’s a bit meta, and definitely a bit out there… but I think it’ll help. The topic is “Know Yourself & Plan Accordingly”:
Episode 3

The previous topics were Reducing Lag and Read the Instructions. Future topics will cover genre specific strategies, optimization, and more. I don’t have too many more topic ideas… so if you have any, please let me know.
