Something Easy For You on Sunday. Spontaneous Time!
While taking a break from my work on “FFR Dog”, I thought it would be fun to put up somewhat of a spontaneous contest this evening.
The first person to respond to this message with the secret password, wins a 6 month subby or an FFR T-Shirt… Your choice.
This should be an easy one! Now you just have to figure out the secret password! Guess as many times as you like.
Cheers,

*WOOOHOO!! We have a winner after nearly 800 guesses. da_headhunter guessed “bigfoot” which was correct. As a matter of fact it was printed across the photo on the right the entire time. Thanks for participating everyone! And headhunter, send me a PM with what you want.
HERE WE GOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So my good buddy and fellow Admin, Plaguefox, told me about this crazy song his buddy Renard did and how we needed to have it in FFR. Here We Go is an absolutely insane 441bpm speedcore Mario song. It is 13.5 notes/second for 89 seconds. It is, IMO, the 2nd hardest song in FFR (behind Death Piano). It’s like Adventures of Lolo on crack for 3x as long.
Anyway… most of you will never get to play it. It’s also the 2nd hardest token to get in FFR (behind vROFL). You will need to full combo 99% of all public songs in FFR to unlock it (then check your levelrank) [As of right now, only 17 users have access to it, but I'm confident more will work a little harder and reach 99%]. I’d recommend working on that really soon, because there are 3 more FGOs being released for the tournament in the next 2 weeks. The good news is we’re going to hit 600 public songs really soon, which will mean you can get up to 6 non-FCd songs and still have 99%, instead of only 5.
In other news… be on the look out for more purchased songs over the next 3 days, before I go on vacation for 2 weeks.

Oh yea, PS – Congratulations to Flaming_Dingleberry on winning our 2nd Gamewhore Competition! He was the only user to play for all 24 hours, and was the only user to get his average rank under 1000. Way to go!
FFR Mapus
Maldon hooked up the ole google maps API to our GeoIP database so that all the users on FFR can plot their locations across the world. Want to see how accurate it is? Simply Visit the FFR Mapus page and see for yourself. It will place a location pin for you automatically if you are logged in. Looky looky, us admins already have pin points.
*In addition.. If you find someone near you on the map, you can click on their name and it will take you directly to their profile.*

Gamble! At Your Own Risk.
Some of you may have heard that we’ve been testing a new gambling script with the subscribers over the past few days. Now that we’re sure that it is 100% bug free, we’re ready to release it to all of you guys! Go to the gambling page to accept a wager. Just click accept and you’ll have a 50/50 shot of winning! If there aren’t any wagers pending, or you want to place more than one… go to the place a bet page!
What are you gambling on? It’s just a flip of a coin. You and an anonymous gambling opponent will each have 50% odds of winning the amount of credits that you both have agreed to wager.
I want to warn all of you… gamble at your own risk. Do NOT gamble for more than you are willing to lose. We’ve had a LOT of subscribers lose their life savings of credits in a matter of minutes. If you are not willing to risk that, then don’t gamble.
Finally, we have a statistics page up, if you want to see who has gambled the most, who has the best winning percentage, or who has won the most credits (or who has the worst losing percentage and who has lost the most credits). A few users have won millions of credits… but many others have lost all the credits they’ve ever had. To get your name on the statistics page, you have to view your history page. Also, 1% of all credits wagered will go to the house.
Good luck and good gambling!
-Tass
A final note… do NOT beg for credits. If you beg for credits, you will get a 24 hour ban.
Official 2008 T-Shirts are Here!
It is finally a reality. They are in!
The 2008 FFR T-Shirts were not only chosen by FFR public vote but were also designed by the FFR public (Thank you Alfadark!). We have taken that winning design and had hundreds of shirts printed up in all sizes (S/M/L/XL/2XL).
The winning design has been printed on high quality shirts that hold their color and print very very well. I can speak from experience because my Top 1000 shirt that I wear all the time still looks great after all the abuse it has taken.
Every year when these shirts come out, we offer them with significant discount to FFR elite (subscribers). This year is no different. We do this because it is people like them that help make this site possible. Thank you to everyone currently subscribing or thinking about subscribing. We love you.
Starting now you have two ways you can get 2008 FFR shirt. We have officially titled the shirt “One Minute Waltz- 2008″
1) Become an FFR Elite member by subscribing. For the first time, If you sign up for a six month or year’s subscription we will send you a coupon for $10.00 off the shirt. Don’t forget if you are a subscriber with a past coupon, you can still use it on this purchase. Expect your coupons to arrive via PM same day.
2) Or you can purchase it at normal price just because you want to support FFR. The direct purchase link is HERE.
Thanks again for everyone’s support in making these shirts a reality. I believe I am done for now with my link fest and shirt super promotion. Wait… Wait… WAIT!! one more. Go earn some fan points at http://www.rithum.com

Rithum.com is Alive. Register or Die.
This is almost a part two of the story that Tass wrote up. I wanted to make sure everyone knew that Rithum.com is indeed alive and starting to populate with a new purpose. I could sit here and explain to you what Rithum is but it would be rather redundant. If you go over to Rithum’s homepage and read the top news story there, it will tell you everything you need to know about the relaunch of this interesting domain. I will however mention that we are working with many of the major record labels and countless smaller ones. Sound good? It is. And it’s very very good for FFR.
The main purpose of this additional news story has to do with staff positions on Rithum. We need people who are knowledgable about and interested in music. There are immediate positions available for staff/admin/moderators in the forums of Rithum and we will soon be opening chat and videochat positions.
use the contact us or forum at Rithum.com if you are interested. At the very least you may want to stop by and register. Afterall, most permissions making their way to FFR will be traveling through Rithum first.

Remember R2? Yeah, It’s Fixed.
Even though they may not admit it, we know there are R2 fans out there. As a matter of fact, R2 typically accounts for around 20k plays per day. Surprising? It was to me.
I was able to get around to fix it this morning and the game is now 100% again. Let me know if you have any problems. And remember, it is not mouse controlled for navigation.. keyboard only!

Synthlight’s 24 Hour Marathon PM Session #1
I must admit that while I have been busy trying to get Rithum launched and looking fab, I have fallen way behind on my PM’s.. How behind? Well lets just say that over a 3 month stretch I have accumulated around 6200 PM’s that need to be answered. (It’s not easy being a Synthlight)
I always insist on answering each PM myself. I know it is somewhat outrageous for me to sit here and try to answer all of them within 24 hours… But.. that is how I do it. Everything in life is a personal challenge.
How will you know of my progress or complete failure? We will be including a counter and unread PM count above this news story so that you can place your bets.
I start…. Now. (check back in the next hour for a live counter)
Cheers,
Synthlight
P.S. Tournament signups are over and Sprite is busting A** to get everyone setup in divisions. Expect the FFR Tournament to start within the next 48 hours.
4th Official FFR Tournament – SIGN UP NOW!!!
So, it’s that time again… time again for another official tournament. If you want to sign up, go here and click the sign up button. It’s that simple (note: you must have at least 100 games played to participate). If you have any questions or you want to start the smack talk… do it in the official thread! Now, to tell you a bit about this tournament:
There will be FIVE divisions, instead of 4. We hope this will help to thin the divisions out a bit, allow more users to have a chance to place and be competitive, and most importantly… cut down on the complaining! Just like the previous ones, you do not get to pick which division you will be competing in. Our Official FFR Tournament Co-Ordinator, Sprite, will have first and final say.
Click the MORE tag to read all the rest of the tournament information!
