a freestyle writing and controversial material
Before the actual poem, I had a question about acceptable material. I'm currently home-schooled and in my Senior year. I am currently working on a story semi-based on real life events, both mine and others. It focuses on a student harassed and bullied, who ends up being driven to use violence, ending up in the use of firearms.
It does not condone the action, far from it. It explores the background causes, the characters all have detailed pasts, and it's not described in a way to make it "fun". It uses varied styles, such as switching from fake journal entries by students to third-person. I'm hoping for it to cause people to really think twice about such events and their causes. Would that be acceptable to post here? At any rate, here's a poem I wrote a while ago. Down the rabbit hole, where I stop, no one knows. In my secret fantasy, no one in hell can get their hands on me. I'm safe in my mind, I'm safe in my brain, I'm safe in my head, but I'm just not quite sane. Keep running rabbit, as fast as you can, for if you don't, it's the end for you, lad. Hour by hour, day by day, spend your life always running away. Never stay in one spot, never take a pause, lest you end up impaled on sharp claws, and no one will notice, much less care, because why would the world miss one... small... hare. So keep running, little one, like all others do, for you can never be one of the privileged few, that make the rules, that decide what you do, they control your life and your family's too. Try to resist, and it's certain you'll fail; the only answer it seems lies beyond the pale. What are your thoughts, as you unlock that safe, and prepare yourself to finally wake? For the veil over your eyes shall suddenly lift, and you'll see the whole world as you are set adrift, never mind that your body lies on the ground, it can stay there and rot with the rest of the clowns. For you now understand, and finally see, that the end, in fact... just begins a whole new scene. Last edited by Coolgamer; 10-29-2007 at 07:38 PM.. |

No hay...
Also I don't see any reason why you shouldn't post your story, but if for some reason you can't, you could PM it to me, I'd like to read it.

It's the literature forum, nobody will care if it's inappropriate, as long as it's decent.

Re: a freestyle writing and controversial material
The story I'm working on currently has only one chapter completed, I might post it chapter by chapter, but I don't want to feel too rushed.
I do a lot of lyrical work, and had one song regarding the subject of police brutality... if I find that, I shall post it. |
