CALLlNG ALL PLAYERS
As some of you may or may not know, I'm currently working on a difficulty algorithm that will attempt to automatically calculate the difficulty of a chart. While I have basic sketches and concepts laid down, they are far from perfect. And that is why I need your help.
By either PM (here or over on KBO) or email (bufangliang@gmail.com), send a message with the following information: - The songs on FFR (or KBO for that matter) you can just barely full combo. ("just barely" implies that if the song was any harder, you probably wouldn't be able to full combo it) - The songs on FFR (or KBO) you can just barely read. ("reading" implies you can play through a chart without mashing. be honest) The songs you can read should be significantly harder than the songs you can full combo. It does not matter how good or bad you are at this game. I need data from players of all skill levels. For those who cannot find a chart difficult enough to read, please instead use the following link, and give the BPM full combo/reading thresholds for the pattern "Index Stream": http://www.keybeatonline.com/testing..._generator.php If any of this is unclear or if there are any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks again everyone! Last edited by stargroup100; 06-23-2012 at 07:16 AM.. |

Re: CALLlNG ALL PLAYERS
Use your own judgment, but generally boos shouldn't be more than 5-15% of your max combo, depending on how easy or hard the chart is. The general rule of thumb is, if you feel like you cheesed through the stage by mashing rather than trying to hit the notes, you probably shouldn't count that.

Rain[YMCK], Zombie Sunset, Storm Raid Battle, Mourning the Lost, mutant corecore, 11ELEVEN, Flight of the Bumblebee, Club.
I don't get your reading one because I could play vrofl without mashing. My score would be terrible, but yeah.. in b4 my playstyle ruins algorythm. Last edited by Hakulyte; 06-13-2012 at 03:36 PM.. |

Re: CALLlNG ALL PLAYERS
Here's an idea of what I mean by "read".
Suppose you have a never-ending stream of 16th notes. There is a certain BPM at which you can consistently combo everything, but go any higher and you'll probably start missing notes. Then if you keep going higher, there's a certain BPM where eventually you just can't keep up anymore and you have to mash just to stay alive. That's your cap for "reading". I highly doubt you can read vrofl. If you examine a replay of your play of that song, you'll notice that there are a lot of boos and/or combo breakers, which implies that you are attempting to mash through. Reading through something means you can combo most of it with few boos, but occasionally you'll drop a few things because it's so difficult to keep up.
