Re: Spread
Play whichever way is comfortable to you. I love playing one handed. There are others like me as well. If you are looking for an incredible challenge; one-hand is the way to go. Spread is what most people do though and yes; they are good. Index is sort of in the middle in terms of difficulty. (I think) I never played index and I had a very short time playing spread so it is tough to just tell you which way to play. I look at it this way; if it is fun, play. So pick a style and see how much fun it is. One-handing for me is a blast compared to any other style; so I stick with it. Good luck in whichever you decide.

Re: Spread
If getting good scores is important, yes, play spread.
If being comfortable is important, play however you want. But you can get comfortable with spread and then it's the same thing so... I really don't see any reason not to play spread, unless you have a personal goal with getting good at another playing style for the specific purpose of getting good with that playing style (as in, the global ranking of your scores isn't as important as the ranking of your scores in regards to people who play your same style). Based on which of these things you want, it's hard to say whether or not it will be "worth it" to you. You sort of have to decide that yourself. |

Re: Spread
i used to play one handed, thought i was getting good fast, switced to spread, and pretty much doubled my skill in about a week. so if you want to get as good as you possibly can as fast as you possibly can, yes spread is worth it, but think about this:
the best 3 fingered one hander is Bynary Fission, who has AAAd a FMO song. the best index player (i think, correct me if im wrong) is Izzy? and im sure shes/he's done a lot better than bynary. so whatever style you pick, if you stick at it, you WILL get really good. i guess it depends on what type of style you feel most comfortable with. but dont just 'stick with index cause ive been playing it the most' give each style 1 to 2 weeks, whichever you feel is most comfortable, go for that. however if you do wanna get good really fast, then do spread.

Re: Spread
;___;
I keep seeing people talk about spread and I always think "hey I should change", and then when I sit down and play the game it's like I don't even think about it, I just put my right hand on the arrow keys and go like I'd never even considered it. Force of habit, I guess... I should really try spread out. By the way what's the advantage to playing index? I see people mention it and I can't imagine covering everything with two fingers o_o |

Re: Spread
but you haven't AAA'd an FMO yet, so go go go! Then you'll be the one handed master!

Re: Spread
I've never tried index, but I think it'd make trills much easier than they are on spread, particularly those in which both notes use one hand (left/down and up/right).

Yes, you are part of the 1 % of people that play this game regularly and aren't good at it.
