Sometimes when I play FFR, I experience Acid Flashbacks where the arrows come at me from a left hand curve.
Helps me get 'dem scores. |

Re: What happens when you play too much FFR?
As someone who's been playing since the birth of Dance With Intensity in 2001, I can probably address this question.
A lot of it depends on posture and playstyle. If your wrists are at a crappy angle or if you use a keyboard that requires a lot of pressure (or if you're generally wasting a lot of energy moving your hands in general), you'll wear everything out much more quickly. The most important thing is to stop playing once in a while and take breaks. Continuing to play when your hands are tired is what causes serious damage. If they even begin to feel uncomfortable, *stop* and don't even think about playing again for at least a few hours. My hands, nowadays, have a bit of an uncontrollable shake to them. I can't hold them perfectly straight due to the years of abuse from DWI/Stepmania, cubing, typing, gaming, writing, etc. I can play for a few months but then I typically stop and go on a hiatus for a year so that my hands have time to repair (and so that I can function in everyday life otherwise lol). Back in like 2005 or so, I played so hard/often that it nuked my wrists for a long time. I had also been into speedcubing at the time and it was all too much for my wrists (late 2005/early 2006 was when I stopped cubing). It became pretty tough to do other basic things such as writing or typing (or even picking things up). That was a pretty rough wake-up call, to say the least. :P Your wrists ache and your thumbs go numb -- and it hurts to even go to sleep. So, you have to be really careful. If you play index, it helps a bit too because you can move the entire arm and not put so much tension on your median nerves. Again, though, the most important thing you can do is know when to stop and rest.

Re: What happens when you play too much FFR?
Hey I used to play dance with Intensity.
Usually when I play too much FFR I have to stand up and walk around and think about things for a minute or two. My fingers usually cramp and shake violently and like MrRubix stated, I can't keep my hands completely still at any time at all. |

Re: What happens when you play too much FFR?
When I play too much in one sitting the arrows start popping out at me from the black background. And it really f's with my eyes and I'll blink a few times, and lean back further away from the screen.
I know this probably happens to just about everybody though. It's not a big problem, it's just trippy as hell, and messes up my scores. |

Re: What happens when you play too much FFR?
College + FFR = Terrible idea. That's why I intentionally left my keyboard at home. So I wouldn't be tempted to play. I wouldn't dare play FFR on my brand new laptop's keyboard. This also happened to me.. except it was with Maple Story (don't judge me). The pathetic thing is that it wasn't even a legit version of MS, it was a private server.

Back when I was really into Stepmania I had some lingering wrist pain, it's better now...
