This **** hurts.

So, I has the stomach flu. And I is not happy. There's been a bug flying about, and it seems me and my family have fallen victim to the stomach flu. Trust me, my WHOLE family suffers; one person gets it, and passes it around. Eventually the whole family gets it, and we suffer for a week or so. I will say right now this **** hurts. At least I'm able to hurl at 30 minute-ish intervals.

So, how do you guys cope with the stomach flu, other than waiting four rounds of vomiting to eat/take aspirin?

same thing happened here, my roommate got the flu from his fiance and in turn gave it to me, I got over it after 4 days. what I did was drink lots of fluids, pound some antioxidant filled fruit (blackberries and blueberries), vitamin water, and it passed right through me fairly fast compared to my roommate who still has it after 10 days and is now on prescription medicines.
go for home remedies and lots of vitamins in food, liquid, or powder form. stay away from actual medicine (pills, steroids, whatnot that requires regulated doses) if possible (not saying you should say no to doctors as they're smart) as certain strains of the influenza actually can survive medicinal treatments and grow stronger from it and in turn do more damage to you.

one time, I got my stomach pumped by the hospital. It sucked to get, but I got over it pretty quickly.

It hurts... It went around my fam just last week... x.x I still have some queasiness though, but we're cool.

I usually eat recovery foods and chill and read books... I used to play video games when sick, but I usually don't bother anymore.

yeah i had this it sucks big time, try eating dry toast and sipping on flat 7up or sprite. it helps a lot.

Well, when I have it, I generally like to try and drink water and gatorade. Gatorade so that my body can pick up some nutrients, and water so that I can avoid dry heaving. Dry heaving is the worst part, so I like to make sure there's something in my stomach to throw up.

Actually, I'm starting to feel much better. It's been a while, been through a couple of rounds (of vomiting), and I'm starting to be able to take in food and drink again. I'm taking the intake slow (to let my stomach have the time to both digest and settle), and I'm also concentrating on smaller meals instead of larger ones. And also got some aspirin, which is helping keep my fever down. Overall, I'm feeling fine! Well, I did take a nice and long nap (laying down on my back, which helps the stomach settle and not feel so cramped and painful), and I've also had the stomach flu a couple of times before, so I've probably built up an immunity a bit. So, I'm feeling fine!

It's always nice to get sick, then feel better, in the same day. It's pleasant and relaxing. My dad's taking it hard, though. XD

It's all sugar-water with coloring and some salts thrown in. /shrug

It's amazing what marketing can do.

That's the point, OrganisM... water and salts. If water's all you can keep down, G2 or anything similar is a pretty good decision, marketing or no. I guess G2 has the benefit of being readily available (okay, so marketing does make a difference there). I don't think I'd buy it if I wasn't sick or doing athletic activities, but that's a different discussion entirely (and one where marketing does come into play).

Well, the water keeps you hydrated and the salts and the nutrients that ARE in it keep you alive and your immune system running. It truly does work. If I hadn't tried it successfully I wouldn't be telling people to do it.

Now, hold on, I wasn't saying that water and electrolytes aren't effective; of course they are. Nor was I saying that your advice was bad advice. I was simply noting that there are alternatives and that G/G2 aren't magical juices. Not that I was even insinuating that you were saying such things; I simply felt the point needed to be made.
