Ok, pretty scary problem here.
As you might have noticed, I HAVE NO SCREENSHOTS FOLDER. Is it possibly located somewhere else? I have forgotten where most of the folders in SM are, but to my knowledge of previously having SM, the Screenshots folder should be right there. Another problem is actually really f*cked up. WHY are those even there, I haven't put anything into any folders when I dl'd SM. I did download it before, and I had added those three folders because I was making a stepfile. I had first made the "Storm" folder and put it in the "Songs" folder in SM, it was so I could put my Stepfile in. (I'd forgotten you could Import songs to make a "my creations" folder) THEN I went ahead and did the Import option, so then I deleted my "Storm" folder, BUT one problem, the "My Creations" folder didn't show up in the Songs folder, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to do that on it's own. It only showed up in the SM song selection screen, as shown above. Also, when I deleted my "Storm" folder, it STILL showed up in the Selection screen!(as shown above) After that, I took a random VGMP song (copied of course), and deleted the steps so I could put MY steps from the song I wanted in. (Later changing the MP3 and all of that) I got really frustrated and totally uninstalled SM, deleted all songs, all of ANYTHING even RELATED to SM, I even uninstalled SM CVS because I was that mad. I later re-downloaded SM, I went through all of my options, changing things to my preferences, I of course checked the song selections to make sure those horrible folders weren't there, and they weren't! I went back and finished my options and exited SM. I later opened SM, went to the Song Selections screen, and BOOM, THERE THEY ARE WTF?! So I'm asking you FFR, what the hell happened? |

Re: Ok, pretty scary problem here.
The cache on the computer tends to hold some stuff when you download SM.
You need to manually place a screenshot folder for screenshots to be saved. If you wanted a clean new SM then download again and change the location name. Example it usually saves to (programfolders/stepmania 3.9) change it to (programfolders/stepmania 3.9 new) Its happened to me with ITG songs and sh!t, idk what the real problem is but thats how to solve it. |

By the way, for a screen, press Prt Scr and open paint. Paste yours screen there. For yours other problem, you must make a folder named my creation and copy paste the mp3 song name. After put yours image in it. Go in SM option and press reload song. Yours problems must be ok after this if i understand all what u ask. |

Re: Ok, pretty scary problem here.
Yes, dont listen to that other dude. Doing what he said takes time and he clearly doesnt know sh!t. Manually place a screenshot folder IF it doesnt show up. Reinstall SM 3.9 or w.e but add something to the name and youll be fine. |

Re: Ok, pretty scary problem here.
1st problem
take a ss and it will appear LIKE MAGIC this works in 3.95 CVS on vista. press prt scr and the folder magically pops up in the stepmania directory I even copied it out of program files and put it directly in the root (c:\stepmania cvs) to see if the fact that your folder says (x86) made any difference and it doesnt. what version are you using

Re: Ok, pretty scary problem here.
Alright, so I did what Oni said to do, and it seems to be working now, those folders aren't in my SM anymore, I have vanquished the evil spirits. If it comes back though, for some horrible reason, I will make another thread, or just revive this one.
Thank you. EDIT: Yeah, just did that dballin, I told you that it doesn't work for some reason, I'm going to have to just make a Screenshot folder manually. |

and yes i guess if you're a 17 year old girl posting on ffr about stepmaina posting in bold is fine but in any kind of serious context it's just generally bad form akin to posting in all caps, everything in colors or using weird fonts. thanks for your time
