Extremely debilitating ingame lag
From time to time while playing songs today and in the last few days, I noticed that there's extremely heavy lag for only a brief second or two that will mess up my accuracy or even hitting of the arrow greatly. Is there any reason for this going on serverwise? Because I've restarted my computer cleared cache etc. I only have one tab running at the time (on Firefox 3.5) and on Internet Explorer I have the same problem. What gives?
(I can upload a video if you want to see what I mean) |

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
it's possibly from one of the ads? or, possibly from a program you have running in the background?

It's the draw on bush ad. Even when you start up the game, it lags completely, like almost frozen.

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
I've had some lag problems too. I don't think it's the server's fault though. Usually lowering the quality makes the lag go away, and it also helps to not have anything else open other than FFR the game itself.

It lags if you turn down the quality, too.

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
For some reason, I stopped seeing any lag in the game.

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
The "draw on bush" has nothing to do with it. I get that all the time, with no lag whatsoever.

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
It could potentially be the software that you are using for security purposes on your computer. Everytime I play, and my system updates, the game actually has STOPPED midplay.

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
Firewall, antivirus. My antivirus had a toolbar for my browsers, and it lagged FFR. Took it off and I'm fine.

I don't lag anymore either. In fact, FFR has been 4x faster than 3 weeks ago.

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
This happens to me a lot too. Just boo out and restart the song and it should go away momentarily. :P But yeah, I deal with the SecLag as well.

Yea, happens to me like every 10 minutes. It's been like that forever though.

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
Never got a chance to upload, but I realized why I'm lagging. I think it happens because while playing the song, it is sending the server the data so it can be saved for the replay. Is there a way to disable the recording? Have it send the data only at the end of the song?
You can tell when it sends the information because before you play a song (and after FFR loads completely) the status says done. But when a song is playing, it says waiting for ffr.com/reading data for ffr.com etc. and things are loading. |

Re: Extremely debilitating ingame lag
I will confirm on the recording, but I don't think thats it actually. Likely its something external, as nearly every other instance of FFR Lag ends up being.
We will look into it though. |
