Re: Skyrim
so i spent my first ~15 or so hours in this game elevation kiting every boss in every dungeon with double cast flame until i maxed my enchanting/smithing and basically cut the mana cost on every destruction skills to 0 and started chain fireballing everything in the game to death
then i realized two things 1. this makes the mana reduction route in the destruction tree a complete waste of points 2. full enchanted daedric + associated 1h/2h damage gear does about 10x the damage of any mage skill and kills any boss on master in like 3 hits also i didnt unlock a single dragon shout because they're all worthless (had about 40 souls when i finished the game =/) |

I guess some are worthless, but plenty are fine. Become Ethereal is essential for mage builds, call dragon and call storm are pretty amazing too. I use Unrelenting force a ton as a mage too. The faster weapons shout is really good for my two handed weapons and slow time literally will allow you kill any boss without getting hit. The only mage skills woth boosting are alteration, restoration and conjuration, conjuration being the single best skill in the game, so yeah destruction blows and smithing/enchanting is mad broken at high levels lol |

Re: Skyrim
graphically speaking skyrim looks like shit to me right now. the problem is, the game makes your cpu load shadows which is completely ridiculous. this is necessary so that it looks awesome on consoles. /cry
anyway dragons and mammoths are awesome. so is getting smacked 200 feet into the air via troll mace. i'll probably be bored of it in a week anyway. |

I'm really pissed off. The monks at that place that teach you unrelenting force won't teach me the last word of it. And because of that, I can't move forward through the main quest.

Re: Skyrim
Trying to get an account through the game on master difficulty right now, holy god is it hard. I've already beaten the game on normal, and I have a pretty good grasp on The Elder Scrolls games in general, but I was wondering if anybody might have some advice regarding how to build my class.
I'm a level 5 Dark Elf right now so I have a lot of options, I was thinking of focusing on archery and conjuration right now just to keep the enemies off of me, so I can take them out from a distance, but this has many obvious flaws, any tips? Re: Skyrim
So I bought Oblivion on steam in hopes that it would take away the pain of not being to buy this game. It was only 6 bucks for the whole thing, expansions and all.
It hasn't worked. Oblivion is amazing (I was busy writing my thesis and then working for a software company like 60 hours/week when Oblivion was big, didn't have time then), and the gameplay I see from Skyrim just makes me want it more.

Re: Skyrim
Ugh, this breaks the immersion a *little*, who though it would be a good idea to never have dead dragons despawn
They also glitch up and don't lose their skin if you fast travel during the "burning" |

Re: Skyrim
Forget dragons, nothing on my game despawns or respawns at all. Everything that I have ever killed has stayed dead and stayed on the ground. I could use it as permanent storage if i wanted. The chicken I killed at the beginning of the game was still there after I finished.
