Re: The Speedrunning Thread
holy fuck, all the practice and routing for the individual homeworlds really paid off (even won the race despite resetting a bit due to stream issues)

Re: The Speedrunning Thread
Want to keep practicing SMB any% but it's just too much now. Whenever I get to C.H.A.D, my frame rate is terrible and some of the jumps don't even register. Selecting levels and just overall playing the frame rate is lower than it should be and I'm probably losing like +1 minute or more a run because of how slow my game runs. Anyone have any tips on making a game run faster?

IMO that looks like more of an urn than the final time indicates. All that time you made up in the endgame, goddamn.

Re: The Speedrunning Thread
speaking of speedruns; i'm attempting to speedrun cry of fear, beat it in about 1 hour and 50 or less minutes :^0
there's 2 exploits that can be used hand-in-hand for the mod that allows you to get to various places quickly, but drains large amounts of stamina :^| |

Re: The Speedrunning Thread
I'm gonna be the first one to say it.
Using a mod for a PC game sounds dangerously like a TAS, or at least puts the run into a gray area. It's not unassisted because the game has been altered. It's not tool-assisted because tools aren't used to slow the game down or anything like that...so what is it? |

when i meant mod, i meant that cry of fear is a standalone mod of half life :^0 i was planning on playing the game normally, except using 2 exploits with the engine in said mod |

Re: The Speedrunning Thread
Pretty nice PB, getting closer to sub 1 (currently 6th place on leaderboards).

Re: The Speedrunning Thread
Oh, well, if you're going to abuse physics glitches, that's totally fine. There does happen to be a non-TAS 0-star run of SM64 out there, after all. XD
