Opinions on my stepfiles
Ok, since I already know what some other people think, this thread is for the majority of other players who don't normally have much voice in the forums. Basically, if you're someone like Rebirth or hi19 who regularly comments on files, I already know your opinions.
For everyone else, I'd like to know what you think about my stepfiles. Were they good? Bad? Too easy or too hard? If they were bad, what should I do to change them? Thanks in advance for any comments. |

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
I liked them but they could be a little bit harder.(CIA Rave v2, V1)
The rest is good. The only bad file was Icognito, way to jumpey. cßr |

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
They're fine but do you play spread. I agree with what Coolboyrulez0 says to some extent as your patterns don't exactly roll off my fingers. But I like your step files either way.

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
You stepped V1, right? That was pretty fun. CIA Rave V2 was too easy, and I haven't played many of your other songs.

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
The only files I've played by you were Incognito, Seven, V1 and Tribal Revival
Incognito was nothing special.. I specifically recall playing it but I don't remember anything too great standing out about it. Tribal Revival had a lot of jumps, but I still thought it was a fun file. Maybe not the best it could have been, but fun nonetheless. Seven's patterns were inconsistant, really seemed like you tried to force the 777 combo into it. V1's a great file, no complaints there. |

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
Seven was great and kinda cool how ironically the song seven had 777 arrows LOL but i mean, i think CIA could have been a bit harder, i understand not all files can be something like pants or CP, that would just be retarded, i AAA'ed CIA first try tribal i can't remember what the steps are like, incognito was good and i haven't played V1 yet
is V1 a skill token?? |

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
I think your files continue to improve with my favorites being V1 and Seven. I think they are your best files because they are consistently hard (and consistent with the music). Edit: I forgot, I didn't like that you stepped the bass in the last two or so steps but not the rest of the song.
My least favorite are Solitude Sun (because it felt understepped in parts and didn't have very good built up). I like Incognito because it's not like every other file. CIA Rave v2 would have been better recieved if it had been a v1 but nothing you can do about that. SH v2 was a good v2, went well to the music. I thought it flowed well. Some parts felt understepped but I think stepping them more would have made them overstepped. I can see the light was pretty good. Tribal Revival had some untapped potential I thought (those 32nds, or whatever they are, in the synths). Overall, I think this was lazily stepped, except for the intro.

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
Your best file IMO is I Can See The Light as it's like the only song where the difficulty of the chart ACTUALLY matches the difficulty of the song. The others were either "easy" songs with overly difficult stepcharts or "hard" songs with overly easy stepcharts.
Though Seven's not too bad... |

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
V1 is fun, but still easy
Solitude sun was pretty repetitive Seven uses way too many jumps, and i understand that you were just trying to get that 777 amount of steps, but there still were better places to put the jumps, IMO.

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
Some of your newer files are offbeat in the game, and Tass is being too lazy to use my sync changes on them, so that's making the files gay
Some of your sims are alright - Seven, I Can See The Light, CIA Rave v2 (I guess), and maybe Tribal Revival, but in sims like Solitude Sun and V1 it feels like you didn't step the song well enough to bring out the full potential of what the song can give out. That's what I don't like. We pretty much only get one chance to have a simfile to a certain song in the game (sure we can make v2s, but that doesn't matter as much. What really matters is the v1), and it's just common sense that you'd want to have the best file for the song go in as the v1. The "judges" don't seem to notice this, and they're not very good judges because of this. |

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
Just my two cents: SB's V1 is the best V1 I've played IMO, and I've played Kilga's and Rebirth's.
I like this thread, by the way--it's nice when a file author actually tries to see whether or not the community likes his files and what he can do to improve, rather than just deciding that his files are all great and that if the community doesn't like them that it's the community's problem.

Re: Opinions on my stepfiles
Sounds like that's what you think I've been doing. I just look at all of the comments on my sims in the SOTW threads that people make.
And if my or Kilga's V1 sims weren't good to you, I don't know. The might be a little too hard for what the song gives out. But V1 needs a stepchart that's a bit harder than SB's |
