Playstation Velveeta
So there is a new generation of sit on your ass portable gaming system coming from sony. The name is so awesome and original it makes me want to slap myself and vita all over the place. In other words I would classify this as the successor to the psp and I'm just going to call it the psp2. Jokes aside I'm actually really excited for this. I remember like it was yesterday when I went to the midnight release for the first iteration waiting in awe for my portable playstation. I have had some good times on my psp I've owned about 7 of them buying/selling them I keep my self up to date with each and every model 1k-3k and of course the go I guess you could call me a psp fanboy/loyalist. So anyways besides the backstory what are your opinions of vita are you excited, just meh, or don't really care? Personally the new features like front and back cameras plus front and back touch screens, Trophy Support, 3G/Wireless multiplayer gaming, Dual analog sticks almost near ps3 graphics in the palm of my hands I'm sold.

Re: Playstation Velveeta
I've had PSP for about 3~4 years and I am thrilled to hear about the release of the new successor. Here are some of my thoughts on the new PSVita:
Personally, I never really dug the camera idea since it's not really a necessity when gaming. Putting that aside though, the front touchscreen is a nice touch. It seems like Sony is trying to follow the Nintendo marketing plan by straight-up copying the DSi/3DS, but whatever. The part I don't exactly comprehend is the back touchpad. I mean, really? Is that really a necessary implementation? Game-creators are going to have to design wacky games to fully utilize that touchpad. The design isn't all that exhilitaring either, but the dual analog stick is handy. The one component I am completely sold on though is the new display. 5" and 960x554 for a portable gaming system is pretty sweet. On top of that, it's an OLED display. (My Cowon J3 has an OLED display and I absolutely love the clarity of it) I might grab one of these one day once they drop in price. If this doesn't come out with successful games, I'll still get it just to watch anime on it like my current PSP :P |

Knew right away that this thread wasn't about edible cheese.
I've already pre-ordered this as well as the Uncharted and LBP games. Pretty stoked. |

Re: Playstation Velveeta
I want it. Just cause Levine said Irrational is going to make a brand new Bioshock game for the Vita and not some lame port of the first game or anything. And the other games for it look good too. I've never had my own handheld system though so this will be new to me. :X I want it more than a 3DS tbh. I think the price they're asking for is fair as well.

Never really was a big PS fan. Though in a couple of years, I will probably have one around the house lol.

Re: Playstation Velveeta
Very excited, adored my PSP, shame they gave up on it and nearly all the game ended up being pretty shit the past 2 years.
I know Sony will put everything in to this, can't wait. |

Re: Playstation Velveeta
Sorry but PSP got pwned by the DS, even if the PSP was a far superior system technologically.
If Sony wants to stand a chance against the 3DS, they need to release some killer games for it. Give me a kickass Crash Bandicoot port (every system needs a trademark platformer), some Legend of Dragoon 2, maybe a good Metal Gear game, and a portable multiplayer FPS that doesn't look like a crappy downscaled MW3. Actually let's just leave MW3/BF3/XX3 out of the portable market, mmkay? I'm not trying to downtalk Sony here, in fact I've always been a Playstation before Nintendo guy, but Sony gave me no good reason to go out and get a PSP; I bought a DS instead. tl;dr: try harder sony

Re: Playstation Velveeta
$250 isn't too bad imho (I'll wait till it drops to $199) but $59.99 for that 16gb card is retarded.
By comparison 16GB SD cards are, what, $20?
