Well I just woke up from my wisdom teeth extraction.
The most I remember was walking into the office, doing all the poop in the chair.
And then the mask. I remember chatting to the doctors about forcing myself to stay awke for as long as I could. And how I felt the energy being sucked away. And asking them for a bandaid on my first failed IV insertion. They gave me no bandaid. Poopfaces. And then I remember faintly going to my car. And then waking up on the couch to change bandages. There are no bandaids *tear*. Now I will force myself to do normal stuff, like go over to a friends house: to prove my manliness. I felt like I had to write that down. All the gauze is still in my mouth in stuff, changed not 4 minutes ago by my awesome mom. I also did a pullup or two to show my manliness. And btw I am still slightly incoherent, so if this does not make sense, sorry. |

So far, its not that bad, they messed up an IV, but besides that I'm fine in the first 15 minutes of recovery, besides a tiny bit of soreness.

Re: Well I just woke up from my wisdom teeth extraction.
I had mine out in May a few weeks ago. They put the IV in, I asked if the monitor was supposed to be moving like that, and was out. I woke up completely out of it mistaking pictures for trees and they had this nauseating wallpaper that moved everytime I looked at it. Afterwards I couldn't feel my chin and bottom lip for two days and lived on the applesauce and pudding diet doing all I could to avoid dry socket...And I just got the full use of my jaw back last week.

Wow, I'm getting scared. I gotta get this crap done eventually. I confuse pictures for trees now, that's without the loopy-ness.

Re: Well I just woke up from my wisdom teeth extraction.
I remember when I had mine removed.
My gums bled profusely all day. I was awake through the procedure too. I never understand why people go under for dental work. A needle or two in the gums isn't all that bad.

Re: Well I just woke up from my wisdom teeth extraction.
I've had wisdom teeth pain for around 3-4 years, not getting them pulled out. No ****ing way. It would involve slicing my mouth open, slicing my gums open, and tons of work being done. It's manlier to put up with the pain anyway.

Re: Well I just woke up from my wisdom teeth extraction.
I still think it's more 'manly' to be awake through the procedure.
I was 11 when I had mine out. It's really not a big deal.

Re: Well I just woke up from my wisdom teeth extraction.
I had a few teeth pulled myself. Even after they numb your gums, it still feels incredibly weird and hurts a little when they stick the gigantic needles in. It didn't hurt very much when they pulled the teeth either, just a little dull pain and teeny little pricks when they were pulling on it, but I was completely conscious the whole time, watching the blood spurting out of my mouth (ew gross...)
But ya, that's nothing compared to a wisdom teeth removal. Those teeth are really far back so they almost have to put you to sleep, unless you're like sarahxjane who given the chance would probably give birth without drugs. But yeah, I probably won't have to get my wisdom teeth pulled for a few more years (I haven't even grown them yet) but I've never been unconscious (except sleep... but I don't sleep very heavily) so it will be a new experience. It may be a bad one, but it's new. =P
