Dude, honestly, do not worry. With the beta out, there are going to have to be dramatic changes in peoples placements due to the fact that a new level of skilled players will soon be coming to FFR i.e. Dynam0(maybe), cetaka(pwnage to come soon), ieat(already here...oh shi RUN!), etc, etc. Masters will be saved for this level of skill. Only if, that is, enough people of that skill join up. Think of it this way, people who were in intermediate are now beginners, those in advanced are now intermediates, etc. It runs somewhat modeled like that. With few discrepancies of course. Don't worry about placement... only time you'll have to worry sprite is if enough players of the masters skill level do NOT sign up, then yeah, most likely you are up against previously stated players.
