this isn't your chance to take advantage of a judging system to improve yourself as a simfile author; obviously i only want quality submissions and 100% of the time those come from people who know what they are doing in terms of making pack-worthy simfiles

there may be an extremely good stepper that nobody knows about, and has only ever stepped songs for themselves, then they see this, want to submit, but you dont let anyone know what type of files your wanting. thats like hiring somone, telling them to work, but not tell them what to do.

Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
bolth mannn gnr probably shouldve directed you towards the first thread when you asked about difficulties since buizel had made it clear what kind of files he wanted in there
he probably thought you had already seen it Quote:

Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
puppet was probably being sarcastic..
just send your file. generally any kind of pack that doesn't have a set theme (like kirby pack 2) is an "anything goes" kb pack. ps willing to judge. stepman resume: xoon 2, kirby 2, judged **** for stepman idol when it wasn't dead, not mentioning my ffrcp1 file because i hate it and it sacks. Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
you want a difficulty that brings out all the unique qualities of the song that you're stepping, however hard that needs to be to do it. If it's under a VD oh well, if it's significantly hard (FGO or higher) add in a simplified difficulty as well. if you've brought out as much as you can of the song and it's still not interesting or stands out from the litter don't send it otherwise send it
by 'bringing out unique qualities' I mean stepping whatever is the most interesting at any given point in time. if something new comes in and it's a cool rhythm you should change your patterns around to account for it. do this as much and as consistently as possible and you step file good. spread biased and all it entails (pitch relevant techniques, pattern relevancy, no worries for 'flow' issues that an index or one-hand biased file might have) is probably the way to go. (if you still have no idea what the **** watch some IIDX videos or play random files from the dark chancellor pack/vgmp3)

Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
I'm stepping a Metallica file with DDReam. lmao there are like 150 BPM changes. And it's not even for this pack. It's taking forever to step =P.
So peoplez, any suggestions as for what to step? I'm gonna postpone this Metallica file. It's wearing me out.
