Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2011 (Submissions Open)
Can I add more jumps to a pad file and send it in for this? That's the same thing as a generic anime simfile right?

@anybody:
would somebody finish Alien Temple? the first half is already good to go so it just needs somebody to do the second part (which is the more fun part to step anyway) |

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2011 (Submissions Open)
Colours of Sorrow (ca25nada)
Heavy - Good as an easier difficulty. Yes Oni - Mine placements are dangerously close to the notes so I'd probably shift them down more. The layering for the percussion was a little hard to follow at times. Thought there could've been more emphasis on the chords with hand placements. Layering is solid and 32nds weren't too hard to hit. Enjoyable. Yes Eternal Fantasy (ca25nada) Good as an easy MA file but it's pretty lackluster. Would've liked to see layering for percussive jumps and for the 16th drum rolls you ignored for layering variation and interest. Passable. Yes Snowfall (Reshiram) Kinda don't know what to say about this. The layering isn't bad but it's too repetitive and lackluster when there's so much going on in the song that you can layer and change up to match the song (bass, percussion, synth chords, 16th hihats etc.). Holds were a bit long in length, I'd trim those down by a 16th or so. And with all honesty the jump placements were a little hard to follow while playing because you phase in and out from layering percussion and the cymbals without any real layering transitions (e.g. layering in the 16ths to consistently layer the percussion would solve this issue as it encompasses both into one). Layering tweaks is all this really needs because as it is, it's a complete snooze fest since almost nothing changes up outside of the solo; it's a bit too consistent with layering. Maybe Moonchild (Oubliette) The 64th rolls were pushing it; they're pretty big difficulty spikes despite being a nice climatic element. I'd simplify them to 48th rolls at the very least. Holds are a bit long in length, I'd trim those down by a 16th or less. Also, you don't really need all those mini-holds for the 24ths and the like. Layering in this was definitely solid and felt nice to playthrough. I'll pass this off, but tweaks are encouraged. Yes Sexplosion (DJ Marcin Remix) (Wyde) Questioning whether or not you even need those 8th holds in the very beginning measures. Layering in this was excellent and flowed very well. Definitely dig the 64th swing part near the end; adds nice layering variation and interest. Yes Back Alley Spiders (leonid) Liked this more than Rival as it had solid layering choices in comparison. You kinda went overboard with the hold usages though, similar to the 1st version with Rival when you layered so many guitar mini-holds that you didn't really need, lol. Putting that aside, it's good and enjoyable. Yes Died This Way (Rog) Beginner - lmao stepmania dodgeball. Yes Hard - Repetitive but still has replayability to it. Pack could use a bit of wubstep anyways (o: Yes Altair (Coolboyrulez) The beginning jacks are a terrible way to start the file off, especially when you have a lot of one handed oriented patterns like [2][2][2][1][1][1] etc. Breaking that up into stream would be a better choice. Layering transition at M15 was too sudden and flow breaking; Layering the straight 12ths would've been a better choice. M33+, the [1] jack transitioning into the 24th burst is awkward to hit. Shift the pattern up to avoid the one handed focus. Beat 362, shift up the patterns to avoid the one handed trill. M92+ layering is funky to follow from all those 24ths being layered in. M111+ those holds seem completely randomly placed and don't emphasize anything significant. Especially since there are almost no holds in this file which adds to the inconsistency and randomness here. You seem reluctant to use hands and there are TONS of areas in the song where hand placements would layer in well to emphasize prominent sounds like bass hits and percussive elements. Layering wasn't bad but it needs some reworking in terms of pattern choice and whatever mentioned above. Good attempt. No We No Speak Americano (Sensationer) Unique song choice and layering. Hand placements at the end felt a little too overemphasized. I'm questioning whether this file will be played solely based on song choice alone, and your other files in the pack are better than this. I'm undecisive for this and will come back to it later when I've made up my mind. Maybe Rotter Tarmination (leonid) Replayable for scoring factor, that's all I can say about this, lmao. Yes 37 files in queue.
