Re: Artist Blanket Permissions V2
spent about an hour speaking with a guy who is in a band...
http://www.myspace.com/anendlesssporadic An Endless Sporadic is the band... has a nice original sound. I think some of you guys will really like stepping the 2 songs we have permission for. I have the mp3s, or you can get them yourself for $1 each. Songs are: Sun of Pearl and Impulse (recommended). You can cut the songs, as one is over 4 minutes, the other over 5. Or you can step the whole thing. I'd like to see at least 1 of these files in game asap, as I feel that any band willing to speak with me personally over AIM or the phone for an hour is worthy of a rush job. SO... 1 month subscription for getting one of these two in game. Their genre is "experimental/rock/progressive/lounge/jazz" as per the band. And big thanks to whichever random user contacted the band on some random web forum... the band contacted me while I was on vacation. EDIT: just checked out the band's myspace.... turns out they're in the same town as I live it, outside of LA. sweet.

Wow, those songs are sweet. Sounds like liquid tension. If I wasn't already working on a file for drugstore I'd step it.

Re: Artist Blanket Permissions V2
Of course it's possible, but you need definitive proof of permission.

Re: Artist Blanket Permissions V2
please don't even bother trying. i've had enough experience dealing with indie and major record labels and bands to know that you, as some random newb to our site who can't type properly, will only hurt our future chances of getting permission from those types of bands by asking.
basically, you have no idea what you're talking about. these bands need unbelievable amounts of details. you have to speak with lawyers, you have to sign contracts, you have to get not only the recording rights but the publishing rights. it is seriously a major pain in the ass to go about doing it. PLEASE... do not even bother trying. If you want to be helpful, try and find out contact emails for the bands, so that someone like myself who is experienced in these matters can handle it and do a professional job in representing the site.

Good job. Also, please learn to spell, and correct errors when typing. It makes it easier on everyone's eyes. As for your question, no, there is almost 0 chance of getting any major label to sign, because of what Tass stated, and also because of the fact that "most" Major labels are greedy and want royalties. And we can't have Synth dishing out his lunch money for that. Also, i'm sure if you looked around in the forum you would have found an answer to your question before having to ask it. Also, do not anger the Tass, or any other admin for that matter, very bad idea. Enjoy your stay at FFR. On a side note, add DJ Citrik to the list. www.myspace.com/djcitrik You can ask him on AIM if you want to verify. AIM : DjCitrik |

Re: Artist Blanket Permissions V2
Fusion: just post a URL to where people can gain access to your music here. much easier than bothering with going through me.
